“Great place to stay! Value for money and if you want 5* pay for 5*!!”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

Stayed here with 'I love Tour' and my university as part of our sports tour, and it was a brilliant stay! I had apprehensions because of the other reviews but personally I found the hotel was fantastic!
Those who were complaining about staff or rooms or food should realise that it's a large hotel who cater for many guests at any one time.
During my stay EVERY one of the rooms was filled by university students, and the staff were brilliant. They had little patience for rule breakers and the severe drunks but otherwise handled it really well.

The food was not amazing, but the meat selection every night was DELICIOUS! Everything else was pretty standard; masses of veg and roasties, bread and butter, and various pudding types.

Pool was freezing cold but so refreshing after days in the sun, be careful jumping in with your mouth open as it's incredibly salty as it's filled up with sea water.

Rooms were a good size, some single and some doubles (two single beds, easily pushed together!) but really comfy matresses and duvets, I did bring an extra pillow which was needed as I like lots and the one there wasn't thick enough for me! Rooms were cleaned every day, beds made, towels changed. And we all left valuables and money etc in our room and nothing went missing! (nothing accusatory meant, just to let you know!)

All in all...top stay, great location and I'd def go back!!

I spent a week at the above-mentioned hotel in July, at the end of the month. On arriving the hotel looked OK, the lobby more like an airport waiting area though. The trouble began as I was shown to my room. Being a woman on my own, I had booked a single room with a balcony. I got a single room with a balcony. Only at the back of the hotel, in the basement with a tree as the view of the window. I went to the reception to try to change rooms, but that was all invain. The recption ladies, Russian with stone faces, just said: NO, no room available. II offered to pay for a better room, still NO. That was the only word I heard them say in the reception for the rest of the week: NO. Whatever I asked for. The room was not too small, but the walls were paper thin and I could hear all kinds of sounds from the neighbours. The first day there was a soap and a small package of shower cream, and when I asked for another tne next day: from the cleaner, again the word NO: ONly the forst day. I had deliberately left the wrapping from the shower cream in the shower shelf on the wall, and it stayed there all week. The waste paper basket was not emptied until I asked the cleaner to do that on the third day.The bed was left unmade every day, unless I did it myself.
As for the rest of the hotel, food was terrible. At 6.30 all the guesta,, mostly Russians, gathered in the lobby and all at the same time run up the stairs to the dining rooms. There were three of them, always shock full for the first half hour. After that, all the food was no more, or there were just leftovers in the boxes on the counters. I learnt after a couple of days that the vegetables were OK, fresh and crisp, so I survived on mixing my own salad. I lost at least one kilo that week. Breakfast was also OK. In the lobby there were two TV sets, for a hotel with at least 200 rooms! oOn one there was always children´s programs showing, on the other, watched by men only, sports, of course. This was during the days of the Norwegian horrible shooting tragedy and I wanted to watch news, but that was impossible. There were no TV sets in the rooms of course.
The pool area looked nice, but there were only about 50 sunbeds and a few chairs for at least 500 guests. Those who wanted to have a place by the pool must have got up att 6 to put their towels on the sunbeds, for there were never any free after 9 in the morning. I succeeded in having a sunbed one afternoon for about two hours. It was raining..
So, to sum it up, avoid that hotel!!

Room Tip: Read my review, it was impossible to get a good room.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for choosing us for your holiday in Croatia and especially for taking the time to write a review of our Hotel Delfin. We regret to hear that some services did not reach your expectations. We are definitely going to use your kind remarks in order to improve all our services.
We would like to apology if our receptionists were unable to change your room. Unfortunately in high season the hotel has no spare rooms, so the change was impossible at that moment, however in other months of the year we would have been pleased to help you and would have surely offer you a room that would better suit your needs.
In the hope that you will give us another chance to serve you, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the hotel lobby, the bar and the hotel beach have been remodeled.

Poor hotel too many rooms but too much small, only for 2 people. We were in 3 with the addition of the 3rd bed in the middle, in this way blocking every access to the outside. Bad bathroom very old. Poor lunch buffet. Beach without beds. If u want to make a croatian holydy, please do not go to delfin. Furthermore the hotel personnel is not too much gentle.

This is the hotel with the best position and the worst management.
The hotel lies in a very nice bay that is really suitable for children. There are also two playgrounds for young children and booth of them are in the shade. There is also a lot to do in the surroundings of the Hotel! The hotel itself is on the other hand on my opinion not so good. We reserved the room with see view but didn't get it. Half of the hotel is really old and desperately needs the renovation. When we decline our (no see view) room they gave us the new room that was at least in the renovated part of the hotel and was small but o.k. The dining aria was just too crowded during the diner time. We had to wait for free table for 10 min, and then another 15 min to get something to drink. The tables were weary dirty and we had to clean them ourselves.

Room Tip: Reserve the room in the 3. or 4 flor, see side

Dear Sirs,
We would like to thank you for having chosen one of our hotels for your holidays and also for having found time to write a review about it. The bay where the hotel is situated is indeed in a nice place which makes it a perfect spot for families with children.
On the other hand we are very sorry to read about your hard time in the dining area. We will take this into consideration in order to improve the services offered.
We sincerely hope we can welcome you back soon in Hotel Delfin.

Overall: for 2* hotel, it is wonderful. Location is fabulous - near Poreč center (bus stops infront of the hotel and takes you to Poreč and back), very green + fresh air (wonderful for people with breathing problems), rather small pool but clean (beds & umbrellas free of charge), beach very close (a huge plus is the pine trees shade!; beds cost a few €, playground for the small ones near by).

Rooms are small but clean, some have balconies (recommend). Walls are extremely thin and that was probably the only thing that really bothered me. We had some problems with the neighbours one night (teenagers on their first vacation, sheesh) and the staff was very helpful and did their best to assure us at least some sleep that night.

Food is amazing - even vegetarians will be able to find something for themselves (but do be careful when asking the staff what certain dish contains - they still think fish is a part of a vegetarian diet). Breakfast has plenty of options, dinner was always superb. Everything was fresh and delicius. There are three large dining rooms as the hotel is enormous and most people go to dinner at 7 PM sharp so that's when it is most crowded and it's a little hard to find a table. Don't worry, even if you go to dinner just before they close, they won't run out of food (and you won't be stuck with leftovers).

There is free parking available near the hotel, also a small market and a sort of a tourist agency offering several day-long trips (Venice is a must). Near by there are several other hotels, shops, restaurants.

Would go there again, I had an execellent holiday and got my well deserved rest.

Wonderful for families, couples.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a balcony & sea view.

The service in hotel is at a rather high level with polite and attentive staff. The rooms are always cleaned. The hotel is situated near the beach and not far from Porec and you can easily get to this town by bus whenever you want.
