A very nice smallish hotel in the centre of town, just steps away from the old town centre and right on the sea front opposite the swish yachts. excellent location. very modern, I think recently refurbished. A bright and modern buffet restaurant which was often busy. It is quite a small buffet area so it was a much more pleasant experience when quiet. Always a good choice of excellent food and you had the option to have breakfast on the outside terrace but you have to walk through reception and bar with you plates of food from the buffet. Not an option for dinner though, as this area turns into the A La Carte Spinnaker Restaurant in the evening to attract outside trade. A nice bar terrace with comfortable sofas and chairs. No pool or sunbathing area at the hotel although you can get the boat across to Sveti Nikola Island free of charge, a 5-minute journey. This is the home of the sister hotel Fortuna and there are loads of areas to sunbathe there. You have to pay for sun-loungers anywhere on the island but beach towels are free to hotel guests. They advertise a private beach for Valamar Riviera guests but this is a shingled terrace and is not in any way private as anyone can use it and you still have to pay for loungers as hotel guests even on the so-called private beach. The rooms are equally modern and fresh with wooden floors and lovely bathroom. The rooms vary in size, many of the sea view rooms are smaller although not all. A few sea view rooms have balcony and would get direct sunshine for much of the day and are likely to get some noise in the evening from the local bars and restaurants, but good views of the lively sea front. All rooms have air-con. None of the rear rooms have balcony. We had a larger size room without sea view, on the back of the hotel overlooking the backs of the old town centre buildings. A very pleasant room, and very cool when it was hot outside and quiet at night. Not a particularly attractive view but we didn't expect one. Excellent efficient and friendly staff throughout. We had the fortune of good weather all week and had a thoroughly enjoyable time in Porec.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms mostly smaller and possibly hotter and noisier than non-sea view rooms. Sea view rooms would probably offer the option of balcony and would have better views. Non sea view rooms seemed mostly larger and ours was certainly very dark and quiet at night.

Great food and staff and, if you want to be woken up at 0600 a good place! the noise from the quay spoils everything. The front rooms are also extremely small for the near 200e a night
Price tag, not worth the money. Better to stay in a quieter hotel and only eat here

Room Tip: If you stay here ask for a room at the back

This is a lovely hotel in an ideal locaton. Situated opposite the inlet harbour with an arrange of boats, yatchs and millionaire play cruisers. The hotel is well run with extreamley friendly staff who are helpful. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and very clean, The bed was superking size and for a small extra cost a choice of pillows. Rooms even had ironing board/iron/kettle and mini bar. We asked for a quiet room and got one at the back which over looked more traditional buildings which were pretty. (One draw back bathroom towels are very thin - Hotel need to look at this) However they are changed every day. Bathroom very spacious with a shower with room to swing a cat.
We were half board and I rate the food as good for what we paid - The Croation wine is excellent.
The hotel is well located - 10 minute walk to the bus station, travelling on local buses very easy and cheap.
May bars and resturants both traditional and boutique at very reasonable prices all round the town.
We used the Croation Kuna which works out very very good value for money on drinks, food and goods. Overall would gladly recomend. Well done for the Valamar Riviera.

We had a relaxed fortnight in this boutique hotel right on the harbour with the historic town of Porec with it's Venetian architecture and cobbled streets around the corner. The staff at Valamar Riviera were very friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, modern and very clean at all times. The food was good and the restaurant staff exceptional. The ferry for Venice pulled up at the front door, the coastal walks were most enjoyable and we can't find a thing to complain about. The hotel was the basis of a superb holiday.

A wonderful week at this harbour front hotel. Excellent service from very friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our week together, much needed after planning and organising our wedding.
Our room was at the back of the hotel, away from the noise of the harbour front bars and restaurants, where our window overlooked the rear of some local properties, adding the the overall charm. Our cleaner was excellent, always happy and nothing was any bother. The only day when the bathroom wasn't quite right was when she had a day off!
The buffet breakfasts were very good with a wide selection. Although we booked half-board we didn't find the evening meals to our taste and ate out for five of the seven nights we were there.
The town of Porec has much to offer and we enjoyed our whole experience, our conversation is already about returning and when we do, we will choose a bed & breakfast option.
The beach just over the water at the Fortuna Hotel is also an asset if you want to relax in the sun. Overall an excellent hotel and we have no hestitation in recommending a stay there.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms at the back of the hotel, those at the front have the sea/harbour views but also have the music from the harbour front
