“Good quality, but too high price for some dishes.”
Reviewed July 14, 2012 via mobile

Cardo is a good restaurant. But the prices for some dishes are too high for the quality. The service is not willing to handle its failures appropriately for a top restaurant. If I order palatcinke with nuts and get it instead with chocolate, serving additional nuts is not the right solution. Some dishes we had were excellent and the high price justified. Others mediocre with the same high price. Anyway I do recommend it after all.

“Excellent sea-food, very friendly service!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

Had the grilled fish platter for two which was divine! To drink Croatian prossecco, light and bubbly. The service was fast, attentive and very friendly. I only thought it was a bit expensive but I belive the price was no different than elsewhere. Enjoy, we did!

“Excellent”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

We ate here twice and on both occasions it was great. The food is of high quality, well prepared, and served elegantly by really helpful and friendly staff. The house red wine, an Istrian Merla is superb, worth visiting just to have the wine. And there is subtle entertainment in the form of one man sitting on the steps of the adjacent building, playing an acoustic guitar and singing a variety of songs ... occasionally I think just singing the menu as I'm sure that pizza quattro stagione appeared in one of the italian songs. And good value, aperitifs, complimentary nibbles. three courses, wine and coffee all for around £35 per head. Can't wait for our next trip to Porec to go back there.

“Probably the best restaurant in Porec”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

The restaurant accepts debit cards and is located in a small square in the old town, next to another good restaurant Barilla. All the touches associated with a good restaurant are there, quality seating, overhead fans, good table service, etc. The restaurant is very popular and fills its tables without the need for pavement sales pitches used by several other restaurants in the town.
I had fish soup (40 kuna) and anglerfish in champagne (150 kuna) and wine (150 kuna),with most of the wines on offer in the 130 to 150 kuna price range. The food was delicious, and the quality of the wine matched the price. Another positive was that the waiter served the wine in an ice bucket without having to be asked.
In a similar quality restaurant in Sheffield I would expect to pay probably 20% more for both the food and drink.
Probably the best choice restaurant in Porec for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, rather than a cheap pizza.
