This restaurant is a must if you are in Porec. Situated on the harbour with the poshest boats morred just across the road is this stylish restaurant. The owner/ manager Nikola though not Sevti Nikola (saint Nicholas as is the name of the restaurant!) is fantastic. You receive a welcome like no other. the service is efficient friendly and helpful whilst unobtrusive. The manager sweeps round giving advice on the best wine to go with your meal and avising on menu options. They are willing to adapt anything on the menu and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is to die for and wonderfully presented. On our first visit we had the fixed price 4 course fish menu. We started with marinated king prawns. Next was fish soup but 3 of us foolishly changed it for brocolli soup whihc was on the meat menu. I say foolishly because the fish soup was superb with chunks of fish, mussels, squid etc. then we had a whole sea bass and then home made mousses - total price £14.90. We booked to go again and when we arrived Nikola knew our names and had a prime spot table waiting. he remebered what we drank last time and so recommended something slightly different. he gave us the otpion when we tried the bottle of wine to change it. This time we went a la carte which doubled the price to a very reasonable £50 each including two bottles of wine coffee etc. We had the most fabulous whole turbot baked in the oven with potatoes, tomatoes, peppers etc. To end there was complimentary grappa or coffeee and then as a parting gift a bottle of honey grappa to take home. What a treat!
