Great hotel opened few years ago, looks like new, modern style, a lots of natura light. Fair size bedrooms with nice furniture, new baths, flat screen TV. Great choice of food for breakfats and dinner. Ones a week "fisherman's night". Nice outside pools, charming terraces, bars, kindergrten and gym. Quietarea outside of a town called The green lagoon on the beach. Very good conected with the city. If you do not want to use your car, there' a bus in front of hotel. Big choice of 1 day trips, as well as 1 day Venice tour. Don't go anywhere else. Reatsurant Dvi murve, top 5 fish retstaurants in Croatia must be visited.

Just returned from a fantastic week at the Laguna Molindrio Porec . What can I say a short 2hr flight from the uk with great flight times courtesy of Croatian Airlines transfered a great modern spotlessly clean hotel with courteous polite staff all imaculately turned out in crem tunic and black trousers. Shown to our room with lagoon /sea view with all mod cons. The hotel basis is half board (breakfast and eve meal) with a wide choice for all European visitors including champagne for breakfast as a nice touch! The hotel has a gym a children playground animation team and regular evening entertainment- Something for everyone!
The surrounding area is stunning and so clean and eco friendly the complex is set in a pine forest and includes numerous hotels and villas apartments with acres of lush green land. There is a train to take you in to Porec and a water taxi on a regular basis . the area is scenic and the main town is so vey pretty cobbled streets and quaint building with a fab marina. Nearer to the hotel a short walk are more low key bars and resturants with great sea view. Also lots of water sports and bicycle hire at great low hourly charges. I cannot fault the hotel at all if you are still deciding look no further.. I m a travel consultant and this is in my top 3 holiday destinations and hotel!! Enjoy

Room Tip: 419 great room !

The standard of this hotel was great, modern, clean, all amenities you would expect from a hotel with this star rating. We were half board and were more than happy with the choice of food available. In the evening there was always variety and a selection of meats, salads, fish, desserts. Food was always getting replenished if it ran out. The food was exceptional on the themed 'fisherman's supper' night, as you were given the option of whole sea bass, mackerel, trout, tiger prawns etc. There was a live band, complimentary drinks and the restaurant was set out like a wedding. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only complaint about the hotel was that there was no music playing in the bar in the evening, which made it dull at times. There was entertainment for children however, which seemed to be enjoyed.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, only a few restaurants and bars, so not ideal if you are looking for some good night-life. The area is great for water sports however. Sadly there is no beach available but there areas next to the water to sunbathe etc.

Porec is a lovely place for an evening, plenty of cafe bars and restaurants-pretty place and nice to look around. We took a bus from Porec bus station to Rovinj, and spent the day there. Rovinj is a traditional Croatian port, with an Italian influence, worth a visit.

We booked a trip to Venice via Thomas Cook, which was good. It took about 2.5 hours each way by boat, but was worth it. In hindsight we would probably have made this journey off of our own backs, as a tour guide is not necessary. Venice is a must if you have not been before and are on holiday in this part of the world.

First time to Croatia, but we had a fabulous holiday at this very good hotel.

Plava Laguna is a great resort with beautiful scenery, great walks, and plenty of things to do for all of the family. It isn't really suited though for those who want a Magalluf style holiday. The area does not have a huge nightlife and is more suited to those who like a stroll and a few quiet drinks, though there are a couple of bars with good entertainment. There are plenty of sports available though with lots of tennis courts, golf, waterskiing, table tennis and cycling.

The hotel itself is a very attractive modern builing with lots of space in the public areas and plenty of space and sunbeds areound the 2 clean and attractive pools. The are good children facilities too.

The rooms are a little on the small side but are smart, very clean and have mini bars. Ours had a balcony but no view, others do not have balconies or a view, not all have baths as well. Our bathroom was fine though. The room maid service was excellent.

The bar service was ok but a little slow at times. Drinks were reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel.

The restaurant service was good and generally friendly and the only main complaint came regarding breakfast. Where as the dinner food was plentiful, varied and generally very good, the breakfast food could have had more variety and things frequently ran out. The staff also have a nasty habit of starting to shut it down or not replenishing at 9.30/40am despite being open until 10am.

The reception was generally very good with most staff speaking excellent English.
All in all, we loved Croatia and Porec and would definitely return. The water taxi to Porec is good fun. We also did the day trip to Venice, we booked directly with Venetian Lines but their were better offers locally to go and plenty of them. The Venice trip is definitely recommended but we are so glad we took we didn't take our young daughter with us as Venice is crazy busy and very expensive.

Room Tip: Request a balcony and view if you can

We returned yesterday....the hotel was absolutely fine. No more no less. It was clean, the staff very friendly, word of warning however, don't disrespect the locals either in the hotel or out and about. We witnessed some tourists treating the staff and locals like 'staff' and the response was not good. This is a race of people with massive self pride and friendliness when treated appropriately. Porec was a delight, the nicest mediterranean town I have seen, the boat trip made the evening trip into town a highlight and my son adored the train ride back. The surrounding area was also stunning, very pretty with a good selection of cafes and bars. We stayed at the Molindrio on a half board basis, but only ate breakfast there, which was fine. We heard that dinner was always a little repetitive. Hotel rooms clean, but small, especially when sharing with a child, plus no balcony. So small infact that my husband had to stay bed bound while my son and I got ready every morning, so we had enough room to move around the room. I also should mention that I believe a 4* hotel should offer baths in the rooms, not just a shower. However, if you are looking for a reliable base to explore and get out, Molindrio ticks all the boxes, but if I had had to spend much more of my time confined to the hotel, I would have been less than satisfied.

We originally booked to stay at the Eden in Rovinj, but major building works at the hotel meant that we had to re-book somewhere with three weeks notice and chose this place on the recommendation of a family member, and I'm very glad we did. This is our first visit to Croatia and I didn't see anywhere else I'd rather stay than here.

On the transfer from the airport we dropped off at a few hotels elsewhere in the Porec and started to feel a little apprehensive as some of them looked a little run down or hospital like and one even had a bus depot attached to it! It was such a relief when the coach turned into Zelena Laguna to see this gorgeous hotel set above us facing the lagoon. We took the lift up to reception which was glass fronted and as you went up you could see the pool terrace and the lagoon behind it. Inside it was the cleanest, most immaculately presented hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was closer in character to what you'd get in a good city hotel rather than a beach resort one with the addition of a balcony (though not all rooms have balconies but i'd recommend booking one as a lot of the rooms without balconies are on the back of the main block so don't have the best position.

At tea that night, there was a good choice of food, with very efficient staff to serve you. It is lit up with purple cubes more like a posh restaurant than a hotel restaurant, though the food is serve yourself (drinks are served at your table). There are also a number of tables outside on the terrace should you wish to eat out there. On the first night, we had an Italian style male quartet singing whilst we were eating. I'm not a fan of hotel entertainment as a rule but what was on offer here was so much more classy than you'd normally get in a sunshine resort hotel (though the Elvis tribute act was questionable!) The entertainment wasn't too intrusive generally as well which was good - I've been to hotels in the past where you can't escape it! I hope the hotel never changes in this respect.

The pool area was really clean and relaxing with a little bar selling snacks and drinks. You could always get a sun bed no matter when you went down and there were bubble jet chairs in the pool and it was never too crowded. There is also a giant chess board and a masseuse on some days should that be your thing.

The surrounding area was also beautiful. The sunsets were amazing! The walk through into the Laguna offers a few bars and shops and a little market. The coastal walk is nice, though it's worth noting that the beaches are all rock beaches.

As well as relaxing days, there is also so much scope for brilliant days out from here. In Porec centre there are a number of companies in the harbour offering boat trips to other resorts, we took one to Rovinj which was nice. Two other trips we did were to Venice for the day - this is fantastic and a must see if you stay here, and we also went up to Lake Bled in Slovenia which again was a lovely experience.

All in all an absolutely beautiful place if you want a relax but with the option of interesting places to visit. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back. I'd say this hotel is more of a 5 star standard than the 4 start it has been awarded.
