The park is great and the big walk up is really not too heavy for untrained people.
Our hostess at the B&B advised us to walk up the park so we would see al the falls from the front and she was absolutely right! You walk from one amazing sight to another. If you walk down, you always have to turn back to see the falls. The hike really is not that hard.
It can get busy during the day, so start early, then you will walk in front of the crowds.

This is a must see if you are in Croatia. We arrived after lunch so bought a two day pass. It cost 110 ku for one day and 180 ku for a two day pass. The boat and bus trips are included in the price. We didn't have to queue as it was afternoon but in the morning there was a very long queue by 9am. The advantage of the 2 day pass is that we could walk straight in. We went in entrance one the first day then entrance 2 the next day but most people did it all in one day. Parking is 7 ku per hour. Just remember where you parked it took us some time to find our car the second day.

Just staggering to walk around and absorb the atmosphere, get there early and it's also quiet. Don't go if you like to be entertained, there is nothing to do other than be there and take in the sights.

Well worth a visit if you're in Croatia. Rather than go on an organised trip here my friend and I rented a car for the day and drove there from Porec. It was a really lovely drive there and back, very scenic. The lakes themselves are simply stunning. There are so many waterfalls of all different sizes and the water in the lakes is the most amazing turquoise type blue. I visited many waterfalls in Asia but to be honest they all shy in comparison to the beautiful Plitvice Lakes. You must go here if you are in Croatia!
