“Great spot at Plitvice Lakes”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

I stayed here with one family for one night in August. We drove in so thankfully didn't have any issues getting to the entrance (it was a quick 2-3 minute drive). The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. And we even got a balcony! The hotel is very cozy and the staff (all family) do their best to make you feel at home.

The beds were nice and comfortable and the shower was great with hot water and great water pressure.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Plitvice Lakes. Both the dinner and breakfast feasts were absolutely excellent and some of the best food we had on our trip to Croatia.

Private accommodation around Plitvice is relatively expensive for what you get in return. We stayed in the motel room style style annex and you must have a car if you choose to stay here. Walking to Plitvice Lakes is a real "No No" because the highway is DANGEROUS as cars speed by at high speed and there is no pavement. Furthermore there are several blind corners and Croatian drivers cut the bends and don't know what pedestrian crossings are there for! The government owned hotels located at Plitvice park gates are reputedly basic, but you only pay 40 Euros so perhaps they should be first investigated in you are looking for economy. 3 of us ( parents + teenage son) shared a room which was rather on the squeezy side for 6 nights. The bathroom was small, basic but functional. The garden is a great plus point where you can sit and read, have a meal or play petanque. The dinner was great - home cooked, fresh and organic but again rather expensive at 20 Euros per head in comparison with other Croatian locations. We had to pay for everything in cash, which is common throughout Croatia because many so called 'hotels' are registered as just rooms and don't have a credit card facility. The problem with cash is that the owners tend to quote an exchange rate which you cant actually achieve when you change your money at the bank- so be advised and take Euros with you - don't rely on drawing Croatian Kuna out of the ATM machine or you will pay more. We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful over our 6 days. Our 2 main gripes were that there was no kettle in the room, so you could not make tea or coffee and we had to ask the staff every morning for boiling water. They willingly supplied it:) During our stay the WiFi was also very intermittent - sometimes it worked well and other times not at all. Overall - not great value for mont but it would be a challenge to find anywhere else that is!!!!

Room Tip: If you are staying in the annex ( I think for 3 or 4 people) ask for the downstairs room which has d...

We just arrived at Plitvice Miric Inn where we were greeted warmly and fed a delicious home-cooked meal. The receptionist, Daniella, went out of her way to provide technical information regarding the Plitvice Park (we are forestry researchers). Our room is immaculate and basic amenities ares fine. a very pleasant place to be!

The accommodation prices in Plitvice are generally of poor value for money. Plitvice Inn is one of them, in my opinion and I am still surprised by the overwhelming full stars reviews.

The star of the Inn was definitely Lili who spoke excellent English and made me feel as welcome as possible. However, everything else was underwhelming from the much hyped dinner to the friendliness of the family members.

My main gripe was my no. 11 room in the annex building felt and looked like a run down motel room with falling curtain rail and poor fixure in the bathroom. The bedsheet and blanket were not of decent quality irregardless of the "low" rate we pay.

I must have missed out the part where location is convenient "if you drive" as the park entrance is 15-20 minutes walk downhill and 30 minutes and more if you return (walk uphill). There is no public transportation (not even taxi) from the park to the Inn, in low season (non summer). You could ask Lili to drop you off when you go out in the morning but I would not feel right if I leave at ungodly hour.

Unless you intend to spend two days visiting the park, you could easily do a day trip from Zagreb and not have to stay overnight as there is little choice of good accommodation and decent dinning especially outside the summer / high season.

The little guest house was great. The staff were so friendly!

The location is really close to the lakes, we had a car and found it not trouble to find. There is really only one main road that runs through the area and past the lakes entrance.

The rooms was a good size and the bathroom was decent. The shower was lovely and warm after a long day hiking in the lakes! There was free wi-fi in the hotel and rooms which was a great plus.

The best bit about our stay was the evening meal. On check-in we were informed that they do a 20 Euro set menu for dinner. We opted in straight away given we hadn't seen many other options in the area. Best decision we made! The food was incredible. After a long day hiking we were starving and perhaps ate too much of what came first (bread, salad, soup), because when the main platter of food arrived we were already full! The platter was amazing - 3 different meats, veg, rice, bean salad, potatoes. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious. We ate way more than we should have! It was probably one of the best meals of our whole holiday. It made for a lovely evening sitting on the patio, enjoying a beer and listening the man on guitar playing lots of old songs.

We found this hotel on trip advisor, and I am glad we did, it was lovely!

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great base to explore the Lakes, and felt like a home away from home! Lili and her family are wonderful hosts and really make their guests feel welcome. They offer breakfast and dinner at extra cost. I can highly recommend the dinner as it tasted lovely; it's all home cooked with local ingredients and the portion sizes are very, very generous - you will definitely walk away very full!! I would definitely return here to explore the amazing Lakes area again.

The Miric Inn is a really convenient location to explore the lakes from. We didn't start particularly well, getting off the bus in the wrong place, about 20km from the Hotel (according to the owners this has happened before, so if you are travelling by bus be careful, you need the Jezerce stop, it's a few minutes past the park entrance). The owner bailed us out though, he drove to pick us up.

From that point on the stay was perfect, the family that owns it are lovely and went out their way to help, as well as picking us up from the coach they drove us to the park entrance and to the bus stop on the day we left (not that it's far, but was helpful given that we had packs). The room was great and the dinner, although slightly pricey at e20 ,is huge and actually pretty good value. It's also more than welcome after a day trekking round the lakes.

There's not much around the area in terms of food and drink, so it is really about walking the lakes. There's plenty of them, so this is fine, we did a good couple of walks over an afternoon and full day. We thought two nights, with one and a half days was a good amount of time, we arrived from Zagreb around lunch time and left on the early coach for Zadar on the third day.
