Charming hotel with very nice and clean rooms. However avoid having dinner or drinks here. Compared to the restaurants in the park the price is astronomical while the quality is similar. Also the choice is very limited.

If you are looking for an all out relaxing stay in the lakes then I strongly recommend you stay here. The entire place is done to a high standard, reminiscent of a Bavarian mountain house. The words comforting, cosy, quaint and calm are just some of the words that spring to mind when I think of our stay here.
It is very close to entrance three to the lakes but do prepare for some lack of signage on the way. We did not take our car here this time but I suggest you go with your own car...it's going to be that much more convenient.
We found the absence of Internet (you aren't in a dead zone so you can still make and receive calls) refreshing but the inability to pay with plastic and the lack of banking facilities in the area means you should walk with lots of money on you!
Staff is very accommodating and welcoming - they certainly went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
At the moment they are developing their on site spa and 'chill out' facilities which should be ready by the summer - once this is finished I expect this place to be solidly booked out during the holidays. We're definitely going back this year.

The staff were very helpful and even gave us an early morning drive to the park gate as we had arrived by bus. Friendly and multi-lingual staff were able to help us with information on taking the bus to our next destination and the food was great (my wife and I would each get a different plate and share them). You can buy beer/wine from them so you can relax and have a pre/post dinner drink and enjoy this lovely place in the mountains.

Room Tip: Cars not required, accessible by bus.

The eco-lodge-hotel was working from few time when we were there, even then it was everything really good. Kind staff, nice restaurant (it is full pension - we were for only one night) - and very very cosy room. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Ethno House one night while visiting Plitvice Lakes. The room was quiet, comfortable and the woman running the small hotel was very nice. My only complaint is that the bed was quite hard.

They have WIFI and good AC. We had the fish dinner there and it was truly fantastic. Breakfast was basic.

We decided to visit the Lakes on our last days in Croatia. We found this place on-line last minute and it was easy to book. Ethno House has a great location in the park. We only had a short time to see all the sites and this location allowed us to see one area in the afternoon of our arrival, and see the falls in the early morning before we had to leave. We missed the big crowds from the tour buses. The service at the hotel was very friendly and knowledgeable about the park and trails. The food was spectacular! I'm really glad that the park hotels were booked and we ended our croatian vacation staying here. The only draw back is the that the rooms are a little dark because of the natural wood interior.... But who stays inside at a national park???

WE really enjoyed the stay and the Lakes. Rooms Nice neat and clean. Fresh.
Like reviewers before me we have to admit: One of the two girls were VERY unfriendly. We were not told the time for breakfast and when 5 minutes late all was removed and she was very ubrupt.
IN the middle of nowhere where can we get breakfast? After lots of complaining and her English not too good she gave us something to eat. However the other girl at check in were marvelous. It is a pity that staff can be the downfall of this beautiful establishment. The rest of the family very nice. Did not eat there as we went to Vila Velebita....on the Mainroad a few kilos back - absolutely stunning. Dont miss out on this! Dejan assisted us two nights in a row at the restaurant. They know their customers.. All in all it was a nice visit to the Lakes and stay.
