Rosina Hotel
Ranked #11 of 18 Hotels in Makarska
Reviewed August 16, 2010

We stayed in Makarska for two weeks in August. It was a first visit to Croatia. We were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the country and hospitality of its people. Croatia offers an European service of good quality. The Rosina Hotel is a new and modern hotel. The rooms, overlooking the Adriatic sea, are big and comfortble. What is peculiar in the room is a sitting/TV lounge , separated from the sleeping area. In our room there was a big terrace, where you can watch a sunset in the evening while having a glass of wine. The hotel is located along a noisy highway, but the soundproof windows at the hotel protect your sleeping at night. The staff at the hotel was very professional and friendly. 10 minute walk down the hill from the hotel to the coastline. If you take right on the seaside promenade you can find a less crowded beaches.

Stayed here from 4 -14th June and had no reason for any compliant. We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of accomodation and it was obvious money had been spent by these standards. We stayed on half board basis, always found plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner, the only slight drawback being having to order the evening meal after the previous nights meal. Ivan, the evening waiter every night provide very good service, being friendly without being intrusive.
All in all this was a good stay, possibly a little way from town, 10 mins, for some people, but we used this as exercise after dinner.
Although slighty dearer,it is worth the extra to have a front (island) facing room.

We stayed at Rosina for 2 weeks (last week in May 2010), we loved it. We read the previous reviews so we knew what to expect.
We had a balcony view of the sea on the 3rd floor it was beautiful. the room had a sitting room area which was very nice. This is true the noise of the road is there but once you close the windows you can t hear anything.
The hotel is very clean the breakfast was good you can even ask for bacon and egg.
the staff there are very helpfull and friendly
We hired a car for a week during our stay, and the hotel was idealy situated for exploring Croatia easy to go to Dubronick or Slit or other places.
This hotel has pros and cons but overall i would go there again

Lovely clean hotel, and very friendly staff. Went at the begining of May therefore the holiday season hadn't really started. The front rooms at the hotel are very large, but on main road, however they get the sun most of the day. The back rooms have small balconies without sun, and there wasn't much of view at the back of the hotel, however you could see the mountains. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. There was plenty of choice at breakfast time i.e. bacon, scrammbled eggs, toast, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, and a selection of coffees, teas and juice. Makarska is a lovely quiet resort, with lovely walks along the coastline. I would recommend both the hotel and the resort

Greetings fellow travellers,

We were fortunate enough to book and stay in the Hotel Rosina for well over 5 days on an extremely long journey through 7 countries. This Hotel was outstanding for us for a number of reasons.

The first being its location - though not on the main sea boulevard our room overlooked the Adriatic - the room was enormous, lovely, separate lounge/tv area and exquistely decorated.

The dining room/balcony and lounge areas again, had all that travellers need and then some.

The highlight was a particular staff member by the name of Davor. Davor helped in ways that could only be described as being like a family member. He answered numerous questions, gave help that could only be gained by local knowledge, assisted in translating documentation that I needed, helped me track down family and understood the "shopping" needs of someone who was not into the usual trinkets but the traditional, well made and beautifully presented items. Out of this stay we gained a friend and found a home in a place where going back to Makarska would not be the same if we did not stay at the Hotel Rosina.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the owner, Annika Matic, her excellent staff and of course Davor. Every return visit to Makarska will be spent at the Hotel Rosina because of the Hotel's standard, the kindness and consideration of those who were there.

This Hotel is of a standard that was a surprise - though there was not the usual pool or 2 minute stroll to the beach - none of it mattered - this was a home.

We hadn't been to Croatia before and didn't quite know what to expect, on arrival we were impressed with condition and cleanlness and that was only in reception, we were allocated a room/suite on the second floor with balcony and sea views not quite what was expected as there was a number of building (some under construction) to the front plus the busy road, not that this was a problem as the double glazing worked well and kept out most of the noise. On the Sunday we were greeted by the Holiday Options Rep Ivana who gave us a lot of information about the local area, buses etc. We, like most reviewers found the walk to the prominade and into town quite easy but the return journey a little more heavy going. The hotel is owned by Swedes which is reflected in the quality of the fixtures and fitting (not IKEA) the good food and friendly service provided. Taking all into consideration a very pleasant weeks stay.

Stayed for a week of my honeymoon in this lovely hotel. It's located about 10 minutes walk from beach and 20 minutes from the main town. The mountain view rooms are smaller but quieter, sea view room much larger but can be noisy because of the nearby road. There isn't a pool but you can go down the road to Hotel Meteor and use their outdoor pool for free.
