“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Stayed here for a week, in September, the hotel is very clean, rooms large although as others have said the rear rooms look out at other properties and the mountains. Have to say that this didn't spoil the holiday as we didn't spend much time in the rooms during the day.
The food was nice, not fancy but cooked well and the waiter Thomas was always pleasant and helpful, we certainly didn't feel the need to eat out, except for a light snack at lunch time.
At breakfast there was a nice selection of cereals, bread, meat, cheese and fruit, with the waitress, Dina, always happy to help out and keep the trays off food stocked up.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

I've been in Makarska with my husband for 5 days, and returned just few days ago. We had the first anniversary of our wedding and we've chosen this hotel. We booked it with www.booking.com. We had a room with sea view.
We were checked in very fast and the room was excellent (N24 on the 2 floor). It was big and had a balcony. The room was divided on 2 zones: bedroom and sitting room.
Before the hotel passes the road, but it's not a problem: we slept with closed windows and with air condition on. It was comfortable.
The breakfast in the hotel was good enough. Lots of fruits, croissants, jams, ham and cheese, coffee and tea, cereals and milk, omellete, boiled eggs, bacon and sausages were always available.
The location was also comfortable for us. It's 7min walk to the beach. And there was no boom-boom music from the beach bars:) So it was a huge plus. The only minus is that the road back from the sea goes up.
There is a free parking in the underground garage and in the car park before the hotel. It was also a huge plus. The underground parking was closed after 23:00 till morning.
There is a supermarket on the opposite side of the road. Also we've found very good restaurant ('Jez' which means a hedgehog) in 5 min walk from the hotel.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. Being our first visit to Croatia, we were aprehensive about what we would find as far as the standard of the hote, the resort etc., but we need not have worried.
First impressions of the Makarska Riviera were excellent and our drive down the coast from Split airport (about 1 hr 40 minutes) gave us our first taste of the fabulous scenery that the area has to offer.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by the receptionist and given the key to our room (number 22, with a sea view). The room was huge, with a small shower room, sleeping area, lounge area and a sunny balcony. Equipment included safe, minibar, hairdyer and air conditioning. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and this standard was maintained throughout the week.
We cannot comment on the food in the restaurant as we walked into town every night to enjoy the lovely local food from the numerous restaurants. We did however, have breakfast every day and this was very good. Hot, fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, plus a selection of fruit, pastries, breads, cerials, yogurts, cheeses & hams etc.,
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Front bedrooms are much larger and have the sun on the balcony all day, plus a sea view. Room 22 was...

Although the hotel seems recent, it is very old fashioned. Reception area is very small, no lobby at all. The room is large, but the bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen (including 2 star hotel). Maybe one square meter! The wifi acces isn't good : it uses temporary ID and passwords which work fine for labtops but not for smartphones. Our smartphones got disconnected frequently, number of sessions sometimes exceeding. No automatic reconnection once you're out of the room :you have retry 5 to 10 times before getting connected. When we told the manager our problems with smartphones he shrugged and said it was working fine for his PC ! The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the (very crowded) beach and more than 20 minutes walk to the city center. Breakfast was dull. Altogether, I was happy not to have booked more than 1 night!

Room Tip: There're probably better hotels at Makarska

Hotel Rosina has good location on the entrance to Makarska. It's not on the beach and you have to walk 10 minutes to reach city beach.
Hotel is clean, rooms are quite big and furniture is fairly new.
Take room with a sea view since other side is quite terrible.
Breakfast was OK but a bit cheap and with not too many choices.
I recommend this hotel for staying couple of days. I'm not sure if it's suitable for all 15 days of vacation.

We arrived in Makarska with nothing booked. This was a wonderful place to stumble onto. Big rooms with everything you need. Clean and comfortable, great view and a good price. The staff were quiet and unassuming and very helpful. Breakfast was good with a big variety. Would definitely recommend .
