“Fantastic!!!!”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We stayed for one week the whole family now in august. Very nice, clean rooms and friendly staf. The hotel is situated near the harbour with a wonderful view. Breakfast was very good and also the food at the hotel restaurant.
The nearby disco can be heard a little bit but doesn´t spoil a great stay.
We wish that the wifi wouid function a little better.
We will gladly come back to this hotel!!!!

Room Tip: Al the rooms are nice!!!

This is a hotel I've booked right after my parents spent a week there and they were thrilled. So I decided to give it a go. The hotel itself is absolutely superb, you get that instant holiday feeling as soon as you walk in. I especially liked the small french balcony room with views over the bay. The views from the rooms are gorgeous, both mornings and evenings. I give an extra plus for the girls at the reception desk that were VERY VERY helpful and friendly helping me/us with all kinds of things, including visits to a doctor due to a illness in the last few days.

Good solid breakfast as well and I also liked the food and service of the two restaurants of the hotel. Check the great Croatian wine list of the restaurants in the hotel !

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms are the best I think. Spend extra for sea/sunset view, it puts a smile in your face...

The hotel is located in a picturesque place, it looks gorgeous (in comparison to other conrete blocks of hotels). Sea views from the rooms and restaurants are fantastic.

"-"

-the staff is not enthusiastic about helping you, I really felt like I was bothering them (agree with the previous rerviewer Aproteau), waiters at the restaurant looked exhausted all the time as if they had been working days and nights (probably they were?);

no parking policy for their free parking area (anybody could (and the locals really did) come and park there as a result guests of the hotel had to use city parking or hotel garage - 11 euro per day (but probably that was the point - to get some money);

no wi-fi in rooms or restaurant (wi-fi at the reception is awfully slow, it'll take you ages to check your e-mail, so you may as well leave your i-pad at home);

no beach (I can't accept that the concrete platform which is a part of the promenade is in fact hotel beach), the nearest beach is 20-25 min walk from the hotel to the other part of the city where the majority of the hotels is situated; but if you're looking for a relaxing rest near the sea enjoying the smell of pine-trees, forget about it in Makarska; you'll get hoards of people who walk all over you, because the beach is very narrow and too small while the number of people too big (if you rent a car go to Brela beach 13 km away from Makarska); moreover you have to pay for every single thing - sunbed (5,5 euro per day), umbrella (the same), shower (around 0,3 euro), toilet, parking.

the hotel is in a very noisy place, it's unbearable, music starts playing at around midnight and goes on till 5 a.m., after that dozens of peole wishing to enjoy the scenary and express overwhelming feeling through singing loudly come to Osejava hotel (as there are a lot of places to sit and views are great) and rock the city (and surely guests of the hotel) by their talents (by the way the hotel authorities never even tried to do anything about it); from 6 a.m. street cleaning (which also very noisy) begins. As a result 10 sleepless nights.

We would recomend it off season and for those who are not looking for a rexing beach holiday.

Room Tip: Do not choose sea/harbour view room, it's increadibly noisy at night even with your balcony door...

The room we got was amazing and very clean. The service is really average, we felt like we were bothering them. This is not the hotel's fault but this city is very noisy, DON'T get a room on the sea side, you will ear music all night long. We had a room with a pool view and could still ear music in the room until 3h30 am. No wifi in the room, only wired !? Did we travel back in time to 1995 ? If the price of the hotel was reasonable, I would've rated this place 5 stars but considering the price we've paid I think this place is very average.

This is a lovely hotel, great value. Friendly staff, exceptionally clean, and the rooms are gorgeous. Check in was smooth and the staff helpful. It's positioned far enough away from the area where the young people tend to party all day and night, yet not too far. I highly recommend this hotel for couples.

Just got back from a fantastic 7 nights here. Hotel is in a great location with a 5 minute walk to the bars and restaurants.We had booked a side sea room, but on our arrival we were given an upgrade to a junior suite (Room 412). these suites are situated on the front of the hotel with great views across the harbour. Room was spotless and very spacious. Staff at the hotel were extremely helpful during our stay. We had breakfast included in the price which was of a good quality all the usual foods available plus hot food cooked to order. The free car park at the hotel is limited so we booked the car into the hotels garage car park (11 euros per day). You are alocated your own space in the garage. I would not hesitate to recommened this hotel and is a fantastic location to explore this stunning coastline.
