“Blue hotel in center of Lovran”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

Hotel Park is situated on the main road through Lovran what makes it very easy accessible. It looks lovely and charming from inside and from outside. Most of the rooms have a sea view what makes the hotel even more attractive. We slept in mansarda room and we were satisfied although it hasn't got a view nor shades (blilnds) on the windows, so you have an early wake up. Bathroom was very nice and constantly warm with floor heating. The service is good and kind. There is a wi-fi in the lobby. They have only one elevator and it's slow. Breakfast was fine but the choice of food was not so lush. We recommend it.

Park Lovran is a charming hotel situated very close to the old sector & looking out to the Adriatic Sea. This past September we stayed in one of the attic rooms (no view of course) but it was extremely clean, comfortable and with a gorgeous and enormous bathroom. My sister and I had asked for twin beds & we got one very large bedroom with another small one adjoining - we were very pleasantly surprised! The included buffet breakfast was delicious, generous, varied, and served in a beautiful & large dining room. The staff that took care of our table spoke very little English but were extremely attentive nevertheless and the young guys at the front desk were equally friendly & courteous. Unlike nearby Opatija, Lovran is off the tourist map but has stunning turn of the century architecture especially along the Lungomare, the seaside promenade built by the aristocracy that favored this area. Don't forget to try one of the local seafood restaurants where the fish is freshly caught every morning; the Park Lovran is the perfect place from which to savor this gem of a town.

Hotel Park is very nice hotel; we stayed there for one night over the Weekend. Staff is friendly, ready to help. Food (breakfast and dinner) was very tasteful and plenty. Our room was on 2nd floor and it was big, with cute balcony and gorgeous view. Bathroom was very clean and in good order.
Parking is not easy since the hotel owns only 6-7 parking slots, but we have lucky and we have parked in front of a Hotel but other guests has to park somewhere else (at the harbor).
The city Lovran itself is very lovely and the nearby locations (Ika, Ičići and of course Opatija) are really worth a visit.

Greetings.
We are most happy to inform You that starting from March 2016, and after many efforts, we have increased the parking availabilty of the hotel from previous 10 parking places to now 25 places!
We hope that this increase of parking places will make the parking for our guests significantly easier.
The parking places (according to availability) are still free of charge for our esteemed guests.
We hope to welcome You again in the future.
Sincerely Yours,
Hotel Park Lovran

Very good hotel at great location. We spent only one night there and here are our impressions: service is very good and professional, breakfast great (diverse offer of tasty options), rooms nice and clean, room with sea view highly recommended (the view is really adorable). The only bad thing was little bit disturbed sleep (by noise from the street and bad pillows).

Room Tip: room with sea view :)

Lovran is a gorgeous town facing Kvarner Bay, and the Hotel Park Lovran is well placed to showcase this beauty.

We chose Lovran over nearby Opatija for a weekend retreat during a work trip; Opatija had a slightly overblown look from what we could see on the web (and from what we subsequently saw first hand, we were proven correct).

Following a white-knuckle drive from Rijeka, we were pleasantly surprised to be personally greeted by the hotel owner, Tony. He has a self-confessed soft spot for Australia and Australians, having lived there for over 20 years before returning home to help re-build the new Croatia. Very nice to be greeted in this way!

Car parking is something of an issue here, especially at weekends. To tell you the truth, if you can possibly cope with the local number 32 bus from Rijeka, you should consider this. Buses run every 30 minutes or so, and the driving standards of some of the locals are somewhat adventurous to say the least. (The website smartraveller.gov.au states “Driving in Croatia can be hazardous due to poor driving practices, and badly maintained roads. Road traffic accidents are common”.)

Just about all staff we met were very friendly and obliging. I have read elsewhere that some reviewers were unhappy about the small lobby. Who cares about this! There’s the lovely outside area facing the Bay, and all the waterfront activities opposite.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, on the northern corner of the floor. It appeared to have been 2 former rooms combined into 1 suite; hence, lots of space (albeit austerely furnished) and a drop-dead gorgeous view of Kvarner Bay – challenged only by the equally gorgeous view of the Old Town just about next door to our window. Traffic noise? We were too entranced by the views to notice.

The bathroom featured an interesting “surprise shower” with assorted nozzles and spouts to give you massages and rinses all over. The room also included internet access via cable at no extra charge.

The tariff included breakfast. We tended towards cereals, not being used to those whopping great cooked breakfasts also on offer. We also ate dinner one night at the hotel; a satisfying meal, taken to the accompaniment of a busload of our fellow guests from Germany all dancing to polka tunes broadcast over the tannoy. There are also other very pleasant restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

There are many local activities to keep you exercised and entertained. The famous Lungo Mare provided plenty of walking opportunities for us, as did the laneways behind the hotel and through the Old Town. The townspeople and shopkeepers we met were very friendly. Our thanks especially go to the municipal gardener who very good-humouredly and unpromptedly helped us turn off our car’s rear windscreen wiper, which was defying our attempts at deactivation.

Sunday night Mass in St George’s Church in the Old Town was a highlight. Lack of English (and our lack of Croatian) here and elsewhere was no problem. English is widespread in Croatia, and in any case a few key Croatian phrases memorised are greatly appreciated.

Lovran is certainly worth a visit; base yourself here rather than Opatija when visiting the Istrian Peninsula. And you won’t regret staying at the Hotel Park Lovran (and not just if you happen to be Australian!).

Room Tip: Pick a room facing Kvarner Bay - beautiful!

I have traveled around a lot but when director of hotel brings you towels for the pool there is not much more to say. My wife was sick and needed doctor and special care. From the restaurant to the front desk to the director of hotel they were all trying to find a way to make our stay better. That is right way to treat guest and that is way to work in longer way and not only for short period of time.Bravo hotel Park welcome to EU

I spent 4 nights at this hotel and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the simple but very tasteful food (there was plenty of it) and the clean room, where everything worked. Lovran is a gem on the Adriatic coast and I had a delightful time there. My room wasn't noisy and I enjoyed sitting in the outside dining area having a coffee/drink watching the passing parade. The price I paid for the room was more than comparable with what I paid in other similar hotels in Croatia. If you're susceptable to a little noise, ask for a room at the rear, I'm sure the staff will accommodate you. It's not hard!

Mark from Australia

Room Tip: If noise worries you, ask for a room at the rear, but you'll miss the view.
