We wanted to like this hotel more than we actually did. To start, our room was definitely not what we expected. We booked a junior suite, but it didn't look like the photos we had seen online. It was a two level room that the front desk called an "apartment." From what we were told at the front desk, the hotel has only 3 Junior Suites that resemble the photos we had seen online. So anyone who books this suite is more likely to get the same type as we did. Downstairs was a small half bath and a small living room, with a balcony overlooking the parking lot. Upstairs was a small bedroom (barely room for our suitcases!), a full bath that was nice and modern, but smaller than you expect in a suite, and a large balcony with a semi-sea view. I say semi-sea view because you could only see the sea if you stood up and looked far to the left. We were not expecting a suite with stairs -- I had an injured knee and we would not have booked a room with stairs if we had realized what we were getting. In any case, these suites should really be advertised a separate room type from the one we believed we were booking. Another small quibble -- we were on our honeymoon and had some champagne we wanted to drink, but we were told the hotel was out of ice buckets. Very strange to run out of something so basic. The two pluses to this hotel are it's great breakfast buffet and its proximity to the Old Town -- it's an easy 10 minute walk away. Also, parking was free and easy. If we stayed in Korcula again (and we probably will; it is absolutely beautiful), we would likely consider one of the small residential apartments available for rent throughout the area.

The location of this hotel could not be bettered. We stayed two nights - there was a nasty smell in our room (possibly drains) which lessened once the a/c was in use. We were not provided with bath towels, and on the second day our room was not cleaned. We mentioned all of this to the reception assistant, but nothing was done.

Booked rather late with jet2 and was very pleased with the package. Coach transfer was a bit twisty so beware travel sickness arrived late due to flight problems and was very pleased to see our very small ferry transfer boat waiting on the jetty. Was picked up the other side and transferred to our hotel a short distance away. The ferry crossing felt like a private transfer and was quite exciting. Room was modern and very comfortable. Smallish but bright modern bathroom although the shower was a little underpowered in sightly awkward position but I am being a bit picky. We had a garden view but try and get a sea view it's amazing. The hotel was very clean crisp and felt spacious a contempory style with lots of places to chill out. The staff are very presentable cheerful and helpful. In fact all the local Croatian people are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is ok decent variety and tasty. I would say on a par with most hotels. The staff again would help with anything you needed. If you choose to sit outside you will be rewarded with a blockbuster view of the old fortified town of Korcula. Small beach area plenty of places to sunbath in amongst the trees and rocks. Pleasent short walks into town for evening dinners lots of fab restaurants all good. The water is the clearest I have ever seen. Wished we
could have stayed longer.

Room tip: Get a sea view room with balcony.

Stayed for 5 nights at the Hotel Liburna at the end of our two week holiday in Croatia.
The location is good, just an easy ten minute walk into the beautiful Old Town, so it's great if you want to go out for a meal, wander through the old town, browse the shops or catch ferries or water taxis.
It has a lovely quiet location, very peaceful and relaxing, and stunning views of the sea, mountains and old town itself.
Breakfasts were great, always plenty of choice and good quality, and contrary to what I'd read on earlier reviews (and been worried about), the dishes were constantly being refreshed from the kitchen, and kept lovely and warm.
We ate in the hotel for dinner a few times and the food was good, with plenty of choice, and it's hard to beat the gorgeous views from the terrace and dining room. Everyone was very friendly and helpful-especially those who worked in the indoor bar (sorry I didn't know names) and made me some of the best coffees I had on holiday!
The rooms are recently modernised I think-very clean , lots of space, good bathrooms. Worth booking a balcony and seaview as an extra treat as the view is amazing.
The design of the hotel itself is really good and very spacious and relaxing-all the things you need on holiday, plenty of easy parking spaces, good bars, nice pool with plenty of sun beds , beach area nearby with sun beds for hotel guests.
Definitely would recommend the Liburna and we hope to be back.

This hotel is class! It's located right by the waterfront and is less than a ten minute walk away from the Old Town.

I was disappointed that they don't supply tap water at dinner but haven't deducted a star for this as most other aspects of service provision was top notch. Also a hotel of this calibre should have a fully kitted out gym! You can use the neighbouring gym at the Marco Polo hotel which is a 3 minute walk away. The problem is that it was never open!! They stated opening hours 09:00-12:00 and 18:00-21:00. However, the evening hours conflict with mealtimes at The Liburna. I was disappointed with this and have therefore deducted a star.

The hotel ran out of cutlery a few times but were quick to replenish however they simply need to order more!

The air conditioning in the rooms was really effective and this was welcome given the scorching temperatures. The balcony attached to the suite really heated up during the mornings so I could only cope with being on it in the afternoons.

Our suite was fabulous and the views were beautiful. I definitely would recommend and return to this hotel as it's simply lovely.....despite there being no gym!
