“One of the highlights of our vacation in Croatia”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

Wow! What a beautiful old town! And how majestically it stands out of the azure Adriatia. We never got tired of walking the narrow alleys of the town.

After seeing Dubrovnik we didn't think Korcula would be any different.

But it is! It's very special and without the maddening crowds of Dubrovnik! One can also visit Korcula en route Hvar.

For those who want to take a day trip to the heavenly island of Mljet and can't do this from Dubrovnik Korcula serves as a great option for this.

We found some wonderful restaurants. The local wine is terrific.

Also the places to stay on Korcula are more price worth than other islands like Hvar.

“Interesting and Beautiful”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

It doesn't take long to walk round Korcula old town but it's very lovely and the way the streets are laid out is interesting there are also several old buildings and a church to look at and a couple of museums as well as gift shops and restaurants. It is a great place just to chill.

“Stunning views”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We sailed into Korcula from the island of Vis and it was lovely to see the old town walls and picturesque harbour from the sea. Everything worth seeing is in a very compact area and doesn't take long to walk around. Plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from too. Great views from the bell tower and also from Marco Polo's Tower, although this isn't as high. Pretty, quirky shops selling all manner of goods, especially jewellry, with the usual touristy stalls located just outside the town walls.
Could imagine Korcula being very busy in high season but it was very peaceful in October!!

“Chilaxing”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

The island is about an 1.5 - 2 hr drive (depending on traffic) and is perfect to sit back and chill out. There is the old town, the new town, small little coves on the water.
We took the ferry out to the island, spending the day meandering around the Old town and making full use of the restaurants and cafes. There are a limited amount of souvenir stalls (very refreshing) and a fare amount of local artisans selling their arts and crafts, but as the Old Town is literally a few blocks, these are also limited but very good quality and not the usual tack.

It really is very slow and very relaxed so more than a day and night you may find yourself running out of the things to do. But the island has such a good energy and vibe it is worth the trip and the time, especially a glass of local wine overlooking the ocean and mainland Croatia.

“nice day out”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Korcula old town is very good if you are day tripping, as this is really all the time you will need. All famous sites of interest of virtually next to each other, so very simple.
I liked the fact that the tourist junk stalls are all kept outside the walls,(unlike Rhodes Town for example) so nobody pestering you with cheap junk. Walk around the outer walls to see the towers.
