Korcula Town is a MUST on every Croatia Travellers List.
Very crowded small streets and maybe a place to really enjoy after the High Season.
Still - very beautiful. Breathing History.

Korcula town has a real charm to it - bit like a small, rustic version of Dubrovnik. Lots of restaurants to choose from. The Moreska Sword Dancing is good entertainment, & also worth going up the Marco Polo tower for views of the entire town.

Yes it's pretty and a walled town usually drags the punters in, but a half a day here is more than enough. You may see one or two 'Marco Polo' shops and restaurants as he is certainly milked for his connection. Be careful with maps from Korcula info.com which are fine for the old town, but for exploring further afield on foot are hopelessly out of date.
Korcula has several commercial tourist information agencies and one official one- don't bother to buy a town map from the business ones as the free map from the official office is fine. That is about all you'll get from the official tourist info office, they seemed to have very little information about anything we asked them, preferring instead to refer us to the agencies. Get as much info yourself before you get there if you want to explore beyond the walls, the numerous Marco Polo businesses and the hat stalls which nestle by the town steps in their multitudes!
