“Absolutely Wonderful”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We were at the Korsal a month ago and had a fantastic time. We just loved the relaxed atmosphere and great service.

It was great to walk into our room and immediately see the stunning view from the window, looking over the sea to nearby islands. Everything was done to a high standard with effective and quiet air conditioning. WiFi was variable but ok - with no problem making Skype calls.

The design was really good, turning a challenging location into one that offered small terraces on different levels. Rooms were spread across 2 buildings so there was no opportunity to incorporate a lift. Not a problem as the staff carried the bags on arrival and departure.

All the staff were really helpful and made great service look so natural. This was quite a challenge given the tables were spread across 3 levels.

The restaurant deserves special mention. A well as good breakfasts with fresh ingredient and eggs cooked to order the dinners were excellent. Not the cheapest in town but really good quality cooked by a chef who really cared whether people liked his food.

While in Korcula do take the opportunity to see the local sword dance show "Mareska". The hotel reception has tickets.

The area around is beautiful. We particularly liked the nearby island - Badija. The taxi boats offer a regular and reliable service that I good value.

Travel to other parts of the island is easy using the local buses but watch out on Sundays as the timetable is much reduced.

We strongly recommend Hotel Korsal. It was everything we wanted.

This was the 4 stop on our honeymoon trip in Croatia in June 2013. We moved down the Dalmatian Coast Starting in Split and ending in Dubrovnik with Bol, Hvar, and Korcula in between. This was easily the best hotel (not that the others were that bad) and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The building was old, but the small hotel has been renovated beautifully with all the necessary modern amenities while still maintaining the charm of the original building. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Korcula. - Staff helped set up excursions, was great at breakfast and just generally went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Croatia was a great choice for our honeymoon.
Thanks,
Brent & Katie

Room Tip: Had a sea view room that was as advertised, a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea.

Well can't say enough about how lovely this hotel is in every respect. The location, the rooms, the terrace, the staff, the sea views - all really fantastic.

First of all the location is brilliant. Under 10 min walk from the ferry port and about 5 min to the main bus station - very easy to get to even with luggage. The property is facing the sea which is lovely and has it's own little beach area right out the front - around 10 m and it's actually a nice and reasonably quiet beach. The hotel is also around 5-10 min walking distance from the old town area and really within 15 min walking distance to most of the major areas of the town.

When we arrived, the staff were lovely and greeted us with a welcome drink and chatted to us for ages to orient us with the town and the food etc and gave us a tonne of suggestions which were great.

The room was really lovely and newly refurbished. The bathroom was tastefully done and new and very clean. Had a great shower. We had a lovely sea view which was a bonus. There was a fridge and a big safe which we always like to have in our room. Lots of hangers and good hanging space. The only 2 small negatives about the room were: 1) the wifi connection was terrible. Basically the only place you could get a connection was if you stood right by the window. No where else in the room did it connect. A bit of an inconvenience but such is life. Everywhere else in the hotel area worked perfectly well. 2) The room smelt slightly of sewerage but that seems to be the case in most of the town. So a tip would be to leave the windows open during the day and the aircon at night and that took care of the issue most or less.

The terrace area where we had our breakfast was beautiful and spacious and spread out with sea views.

The breakfast itself was fantastic and of high quality. They make you fresh eggs every morning if you wanted them. Service was just fantastic.

We had a lovely experience at the hotel in every way. We loved it and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: All room seem to be quite well positioned.

My husband and I stayed at the Korsal Hotel for one night on 13th August. The welcome we received was one the friendliest and warmest we have ever had. Our room was well equipped, clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and with a lovely view. We had impeccable attention at breakfast and throughout our stay felt we were treated in such a hospitable way. As a precaution this is not a hotel for anyone with mobility problems given the absence of a lift and the fact that vehicles cannot be brought up to the door but otherwise for those who can manage it is a great stay.

Room Tip: Sea facing

My husband and I had a terrible experiense at Korsal hotel. The hotel is not a four star: no lift, very small room... They do not even provide beach towels, we had to rent it for 4 dollars each!. The hotel has a restaurant and at night there is really anoying live music until midnight, its impossible to sleep! Also, to make the experiense the worse in my life, the desk suggested a boat rent at the agency Nautika. The manager of this agency, petar Podbevsek, is an incompetent, unprofessional and dangerously aggressive. We rented a boat in bad condition, had problems on the sea.... Terrible experience. The hotel didn't have a good position under the circumstance we passed throug with PetarPodbevsek. For me, as they suggested the agency and we payed for the rent at the hotel, I believe the hotel korsal should give us our money back. I wrote an e- mail to the hotel telling all the abuse and desrespect we passed through and nobody even answered me! Where is the lovely family owner of the hotel when we need to have respect???
Terrible place, never stay at Korsal because it's a terrible cost benefit and also they don't care about the guests

My family and I stayed here in late June. Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff. Had two rooms that shared entry door but each had private door. Rooms looked out at water. Breakfast was included, and we enjoyed it on the lovely terrace. Short walk to old town. Would definitely stay here again if return.

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location. We had a comfort room which had king size bed, desk and day bed as well as a great water view. Lovely communal terrace and enjoyed dining at the restaurant. Had a lovely seafood 3 course meal with glass of wine for 99 kuna - great value and fresh cooked scallops and octopus. Good breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Would love to come here again - for longer.
