Riva Yacht Harbour Hotel

This hotel is extremely convenient, has nice modern rooms, good views, and a good bar downstairs. If you're facing the sea you will absolutely hear noise outside at the downstairs bar until 2 or 3 am even on weekdays. One note for people who are traveling from America to this place: This place has weird outlets compare to other place in the country, so if you plan on using an electronic device like a laptop that charges with 3 prongs you'll need a special flathead adaptor or getting it charged at the front desk.

Room Tip: if you face the sea, there will be noise late into the night.

I booked a superior sea view room before reading the reviews - having done so I read about the noise And i tried to switch to a city room towards the rear of the hotel to escape the noise. It was claimed throughout th3 wes ahead of arrival that a city view room wasn't available - even though I stayed mid sept when things are less busy. I therefore took ear plugs and just as well. There might be double lazing but it s completely useless and should be replaced with something which is fit for purpose. If facing the sea be prepared for a hell of a lot of noise outside until he early hours of the morning.

As a solo traveller the room was fine size wise but would have been too small for 2. The design is all very funky and this I liked. The breakfast was adequate but service (limited to serving coffee given buffet) was poor. Service was generally poor and the hotel has a very impersonal feel to it. It feels that as a guest you are not important, even though the hotel is quite expensive and arguably poor value for money. As evidenced by the toe curling promotional clip on the tv ( like something out of the Apprentice) they obviously take the view that location and funky design alone will ensure a steady stream of visitors and maybe they are right though I suspect that there will be few repeat visitors. Recommendation is do not book a sea view room and consider staying at the postedine or Amfora as an alternative which are both better equipped I. Any event with leisure facilities.

Room Tip: If you are keen to stay here because o the superb location and funky boutique rooms then book a city...

Very chic hotel with the best lounge bar outside at harbor.
The room is tiny. After the bed, u can barely move around. The worst is if u face harbor view, the music outside goes on till 2am, no sleep even w windows closed.
Breakfast is adequate.
The island is gorgeous with incredible beach clubs.

Room Tip: Higher floor

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Riva-Hvar Yacht Harbour hotel for 3 nights last week. We absolutely fell in love with the island and the hotel had an excellent location right on the Riva and right by the drop off point from the boat you travel on across from Split. We had a really spacious and large room on the 3rd floor which was modern and had lots of different and funky attributes to it. As much as we loved this vibe there were some small things that were a bit inconvenient and not very practical. Our room was very dark with few lights and the bathroom toilet door was transparent which could certainly be quite awkward if you were staying with friends or family. The bed was incredibly comfy though and the room was always very clean. Some people on here have complained about noise but we heard absolutely nothing our whole time but perhaps this is because we had a city facing room and not a sea view. One of the best features of the hotel is the gorgeous Riva front beds and restaurants which are perfect to grab a bite to eat, people watch or have a drink. This area really is one of the biggest selling points of the hotel. Breakfast was included in our package which was good, not amazing but good selection of fruit, continental and cooked breakfast.

Overall-fantastic boutique hotel with great location but definitely make sure it is 'you' before booking. I would definitely stay there again though.

Just back from spending seven nights at the Riva and you could not be in a better location, right on the harbour front with amazing views.

We asked for a city facing room due to the comments about the noise and had no issues with noise even when Carpe Diem was in full flow (amazing club).

Yes the rooms are fairly small but this is an old building converted into a hotel and Hvar is a very old city and buildings are ontop of each other with small narrow streets, the rooms were spotless and cleaned thoroughly ever day.

Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, bread and hot options.

Bathroom was almost in the room but this common in many hotels I've stayed in for work across Europe and works well for us.

All the staff were friendly and helpful and advised that we could use all the facilities of the sister hotels.

Hvar itself is one of the most beautiful cities we have every visited and I would return to Hvar and this hotel again, location wise it can not be beaten.

Room Tip: Town facing rooms are at the back of the hotel and quieter but no views of harbour

Pros:
-Location: This is what you are paying for. Ideally located for Hvar town, if you take the Catamaran (quicker and requires no transfer in Hvar) from Split, you will be dropped right outside the hotel.
You are right next to the centre of Hvar town and Carpe Diem (premier nightclub). So be prepared for some noise in early hours, not a major issue though.
-Staff: all were very helpful.
-In general the hotel is fairly good, my room had breakfast included - was decent.

Cons
-Room: had the superior sea view room, and while it was adequately kitted out, it was very small. Not much room to walk arounf the bed.
-There is no pool in this hotel. This is part of a chain spread accross the bay, the Amfora (sister hotel) has a outdoor pool where you can rent a bed (450 Kuna I believe for day). However when we arrived they highlighted that Amfora guests had priority.
-Value: I went during high season and the price we paid was comparable to top 5* hotels, and this hotel is definitely not of that standard.
-Beaches: be warned that Hvar does not have any sandy beaches, so all beaches are rocky.

Tips
-If arriving from Split come via Catamaran. Takes 1hr opposed to the 2hrs for the car ferry, and drops you in Hvar Town as opposed to Stari-Grad (which is on other side of island, and will require bus/taxi transfer)
-Hula Hula: beach club about 15mins walk from the hotel, you can rent beds etc there for the day. Its their version of Nikki Beach, but a bit more chilled out and not as expensive.

Really small bedroom, with this weird "bath and bed without doors" concept. But the idea behind the combined hotels working as a resort makes our life easyer in town.

I ask the staff to fix this loud noise that my transparent glass toilet door (believe it or not) does when you open it, but nobody did anything about it. Same thing about the unoperational minibar.
