We wanted to walk to the peak but as the weather was so hot we drove. It was easy walking to the fortress from the car park and was surprised to find a nice little gift shop. The view is stunning.

Stunning views at the top. Plenty of benches and seating to have a picnic. Also open in the evening - an ideal place to watch the sunset.

Don't be put off by the thought of the walk up to it. There is a safe pathway that is accessed by waling up steps between houses from the sea front.
We decided not to go into the fort as there is a charge and we had no idea what we might see (or not) for that money. The views though are free and well worth the visit for...take your camera and get some lovely snaps.

This fort can be reached by car/scooter or by hiking. It is a quick 15 minute journey either way.

The fort affords great views of Hvar town. Once at the top great photography is there to be had. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop inside the fort as well as a museum that has some brief history and artifacts found. 25 Kuna is e entrance fee. Don't be excited about an informative museum. It is very brief.

Allot one hour or 1.5 hours max for the entire hike up and down with time spent at the top.
Facilities are available. While it is a holiday I do recommend that you do not wear thongs or cheap sandals for the climb. Your ankles and feet will be tired.
