These small, charmy, close (just in front of Hvar) chain of islands is a ride you must do when there. Takes about 4 hours for the private tour with a pilot (skiper), but he will "suggest" you to have lunch and drinks in one of the beautiful beaches (where he owns a comission of your bill and a free lunch...). But this does not spoil the ride itself, since the sights are gorgeous. You can also stop for a dive or just a sea bath.
My clue: don't stop for a regular meal, maybe an appetiser and one or other drink, because time is running out, and take a thermobag with you with ice (they can provide) buying sodas, water, snacks and beer at any market around. Choose Palamizana for spending more time.

We loved catching a water taxi to the Pakaleni islands. We went both days we were in Hvar to Palmazana and also Mlini. Mlini was very quiet but with a nice beach, restaurant and was only a short boat ride. Palmazana was cool, especially Lagonini beach bar.

we took a taxi boat to palmizana for the day.its an easy walk from the marina through the island to the beach and its clear water is amazing.the beach is only small but you can hire sunbeds and move around as and when you like. it also has a nice little marina that has a few shops and restaurants. only thing we found is that there was very little to buy interms of snacks. its ok if you want a proper meal at one of the beach side restaurants but if you just want a sandwich/burger etc you are struggling. be prepared before you go and stock up for the day. we also got an early taxi boat back instead of waiting for the one we went out on. seems stadard practice if it isnt full as the owners didnt mind.

Rent a small boat (or a big boat if you have a big wallet) and go round the secluded bays and islands, stop and swim or just sunbathe.
