“Great cafe bar - perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

It's hard to believe earlier negative reviews were about the same place. This bar is on the corner over looking the harbour; a simply stunning view. Food is good - cafe style. We had meat and cheese platter, club sandwiches, burgers and delicious cakes, coffees and cocktails. We revisited several times. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English also other languages. Everything was clean and well presented.

“Worthy of multiple visits”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014 via mobile

Surprised at the quite frankly terrible reviews, although visited mid May and therefore just out of season. Although service relatively slow, it was always friendly, and allowed us to sit, frequently in the sofas at the edge of the square, without interruption for hours on end. Had many drinks (mainly coffee/tea and soft drinks), breakfast (prosciutto and eggs was good) and lunch (club sandwich good) here several days in a row, due to not many other places serving food. Good atmosphere and great place for people watching! Hope it continues to be this kind of place during the busy summer period.

“Caesar Salad? Hardly”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

The Caesar Salad was made with radicchio, rocket, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and chicken. Does that give you some insight into their attitude about food Some of the lettuce was brown.

Best thing about the food was that the serving was large.

Location is one of the best in Hvar.

“Avoid!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

We visited here as it looked like a nice place to enjoy some food and drink and watch the world go by. The service we received was terrible. When we arrived we found a table and waited...and waited and waited. In the end I went inside and asked if we could order, I was abruptly told to go and sit down and someone would come out! I should've heeded this warning....
We ordered a sharing plate with bread and chips, an iced coffee and a beer. The waitress treated us like she was doing us a favour by serving us. The iced coffee was awful covered in squirty cream. When the food came we asked for some butter for the bread and was given a rude questioning response. When she returned with 1 small individual portion of lurpack we also asked for some cutlery. 'Cutlery!?' The waitress exclaimed, 'why do you need cutlery!?' We explained we would like to butter our bread and eat the food with it. There was another couple there who had the exact same order and they were given 2 wrapped knives and forks. I didn't think this was an unusual request. She returned with 2 knives wrapped in 1 napkin which we then had to share. The service went from awful to shocking when my husband went inside asked for more butter. He was told not to be so rude and we had also to pay for the butter! Not a great welcome to Hvar but the service we received everywhere else was exceptional so made up for it. In short if you want to feel welcome avoid this place.
