Description: Restaurant Palace Paladini is placed at the old ancient part of City of Hvar. We offer fish delicious, meat and vege specialities, greatest wines and champagnes (Dom Perignon/Rose, Crystal, Moet & Chandon...).The palace where you are about to eat belonged to an old noble family from the Hvar called Paladinic (Paladinis - Italian version; de Paladinis - Latin version).Palace de Paladinis, built in renaissance style, is one of the most beautifull and outstanding Hvar palaces, situated in the southern part of the oldest nucleus of the town Hvar below the fortress known as Forto Spagnuolo. The upper palace Paladini was once the residence of Petar Hectorovic. Coat of arms found above the main entrance to the palace, on the family well erected in the garden, on the renaissance basin on the balcony of the palace and on the balustrade of the balcony bares two motives: a royal lily on the upper field and eagle`s wing of Subic family on the lower field. The present-day form of the palace (ground-floor, three upper floors and a monumental balcony - one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia) was designed by Nikola Paladinic, son of Jakov, who fought very bravely in the seabattle between Venetian and Turkish fleet. After the battle the Republic of Venice proclaimed him the knight of St Marc with golden toga.Palaces of Hvar noblemen clearly evidence of economic prosperity and cultural development of the local families in the 15th and 16th century. Furthermore, rich plebeian families always tried to keep step with noblemen which is quite manifest from their residental palaces (Vukasinovic-de Lupis, Garguric) that equal in their beauty even the most famous of noblemen of the town Hvar (Lucic, Paladini, Hectorovic, Gazarovic, Garguric, Vukasinovic...) where not erected during the period of town`s greatest prosperity, but only after the year 1571 when turks burnt the town and 1579 when lightning struck the ammunition warehouse at the town fortress causing a tremendous catastrophy.

“Stunning garden and best food in Croatia”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Quite a few times we eat in this stunning garden, with this great story/legend about wild oranges that falls from tree. Last time we werent that hungry, but we ate brudetto fisherman's style. Best one we had on this island. Ever!! As we saw around, other dishes are great also. And the list of wines is very nice. We tried Korta Katarina rose, it's little bit more expencive, but worth every kuna we gave. Compliments to their cheesecake also! Good looking plate! I strongly recomend to come and visit Paladini.

“Great dinner”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

It was a really hot night in Hvar and my friend and I were really hungry. We saw some reviews on Trip Advisor about Palace, so we thought we will not go there. We went to see Garden, and it was really stunning! And it was full, with great atmosphere full of happy eating people! We decided to eat there. We were recomended white wine Posip Svirce, and it was great! Olive oil we tried was best one we had, and when we heard the owner won golden medals for it, we were definitely happy that we stayed. Grilled steaks were really tasty, although would have liked that we tried Paladini steak with mushroms, as we like truffles. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants in Hvar. It showed that sometimes reviews needs to be reviewed.

“Last night in Hvar ruined. DO NOT GO”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We picked this restaurant because it has a nice setting and the menu looked reasonable. I have never had such bad service or food in my life. Firstly, our waiter was rude, and took about 30 minutes to take our order, refusing to take drink orders first, and he took these after. We then ordered a bottle of Rose (seeing that the most expensive bottle on the menu was K300). The waiter then had the cheek to point at my cigarettes and say "Can I?" - so not to be rude I let him have a cigarette. The bill then came (after another 30 minutes after asking for it), and they had charged us for a K500 bottle of rose - that WAS NO WHERE ON THE MENU, but was "the best wine on the island" - We could not believe it, and ruined our last night in Hvar as they would not give in. What a terrible restaurant.

“Amazing experience - will be back again!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

This garden took our breath away. Big wild oranges trees, and romantic terrace! But it was not just that! The flavour of the food and quality of the service was best! Quality white fish in the oven was suprisingly the best fish we had! It was so good that we booked a table for the next night ant it was great again. Love this place:)

“Dinner to enjoy”

This is one of the long lasting traditional family restaurant. Knowing the local food speciality is an advantage when dining at this place. Through a conversation with the chef or owner will quickly get you the best recommendation for the day.
