This restaurant on a side alley up the fortress side of the old town is located in an old palace. It has a beautiful inside part and if you go upstairs, you can dine in the outdoor terrace garden. THere are vines and full grown orange producing orange trees within this restaurant! Its a nice view but you can't see the harbor from here. The ambience though is lovely. Service was terrific as opposed to the restaurant La luna directly across from Paladini which got our order wrong and the food just wasn't as good as the paladini.
We had a great risotto, grilled veggies and grilled cuttlefish at paladini. The only thing that wasn't what my North American standard was the shrimp coctail. I would pass on that one. The shrimp were teenie.
It was good value though slightly more expensive than other restaurants we ate at but I am very very glad we ate here. Rick Steves proved himself right on this one but not so much on La luna.
