The restaurant has a lovely terrace, and is really well maintained - the view is through trees and into the Amfora Hotel - an amphitheatre of kitsch, that might entertain when there is summer activity but less so in May.
The owner was a lovely, genuine, and generous man and just for that we would love to say that the food was great - but it wasn't. He and his father made their own olive oil and wine and grappa, and it was shared freely if so desired (well, not the wine!). As we were one of only three tables dining, the service was good.
The grilled lamb passed, but the rest of the meals (including pizzas) were not finished. We were disappointed, both for ourselves because we didn't enjoy it, but also for the owner who was so sincere about his restaurant.
We have suggested 'not there yet' because with this sort of passion he deserves to be one day.
