Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Stayed= in the beginning of June 2013 for about 5 or 6 days.

Staff= Luka and his wife are very personable, sympathetic and helpful individuals.

Location= To me it was perfect! It is on top of the city of Hvar, not to far from the beach and the main attractions, such as the Spanish fortress and the port of Hvar. The plus side is even though you are close to party town, you get to party and sleep well enough away from the noise. Keep in mind it all walking distance and Hvar city is simply made for walking... No cars aloud.

Technology= no TV in the room, which can be a pain on those rainy days. No AC, however don't look at this as a down side...the house is built of concrete and stone so at night with the soothing breeze of the ocean your room is at a perfect temperature to fall asleep. Their is wifi, however the reception was poor from my room and I had to go in the hallway many times to get my e-mails. Their is a fridge and few articles such knives, forks and few bowl/plates, which to me was a huge plus.

View= from my room it was just spectacular! I was speechless! Get to see the ocean some islands, the "fransisan"(maybe spelling wrong) monastery....etc... Just fantastic.

Comfort= beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and also felt lots of coziness. One thing I noticed that the hallways can echo, so you got to be careful with the doors when closing them, not to bothers other neighbors.

Overall= It is not a 5 star hotel but definitely deserves thumbs up for the caliber of accommodation it market itself at. When you add up everything together, this is a well balanced accommodation when you include, price, comfort, location and spectacular view. I definitely recommend this accommodation if you choose to stay in Hvar city.

With this I want to say a big Kudos to Luka and his wife.

Our stay in Guesthouse Paulina was perfect... Luka and Petra can not be more friendly! They do all their best to make your stay as good as possible ! Luka come to pick us at the boat and then with a fresh orange juice he explained us all we had to know about Hvar and things to do and to see.
The room (N°1) had a really nice view on the church, the sea and pakleni islands...for awsome breaskfasts !!!
The room was big, very clean, and contained all we needed !
Only 5 or 10min walk from the old center by a nice way on the sea front side, where all restaurants are.
Thanks a lot for this nice trip on your island !!!

Room Tip: Room n°1 has a very nice view but i think that they have all quite the same !

although i didn't stay at other places in Hvar, i visited lots of appartments/guesthouses in Croatia. Guesthouse Paulina is a welcoming place, clean rooms, nice balcony but above all super atmosphere at a walking distance from Hvar city and (small rocky) beach. And very affordable. Would definitly come back :)

We were very glad to be the first guests for the year 2013. Everything was perfect : the room, the kitchen fully equipped, the great balcony, the sea view, and last but not least, our hosts. Luka and Petra like to receive and share their love of Hvar, and it works ! We really enjoyed the island. You can go with your eyes closed !

From meeting you at the ferry terminal to that first coffee he brews you, right up until the our check out day where he'd woken up early to check if our cat would be leaving the harbour (during a stormfront). Luka is the man!!

The guesthouse is very close to the beach, a short walk into the old town and an aweome Austrian bakery that Luka will point out to you.
The accommodation ... Can't complain about anything with the bathroom. Water pressure is fine. Kitchen is very well equipped for anything you want to cook, and the balcony with view is just perfect for breakfast.
Bedroom is large, if anything the mattress and pillows could do with being replaced, and it would have been nice to have a TV given we had a couple of rainy days.
We felt so comfortable here that we stayed longer than we'd planned to, and consequently Luka had given us a discount on the previously agreed rate.

In terms of food tips ... I'm not a burger sort of guy, but there is a burger kiosk by the bus stop that is value for your kuna. Give it a go.
