Hvar is a seafood heaven - but what they're serving at Gariful is s*** on a golden plate!

Yes, it's very important, normally you've to wait outside until they let you in... but when you have a table reserved as we had you're allowed in without waiting. People are posh, well dressed, no doubt... but the disco music from the next door disco doesn't allow any conversation (at least where we were sitting).

But the worst is the food! We had two overcooked seafood pasta with a tasteless sauce and some !!! frozen!!! small shrimps beside some clams. Then we had a "tuna salad" where the tuna came out of the cane, a tuna carpaccio which a) was cut too thick and b) was still frozen when it arrived. At the shrimp cocktail the shrimps were still swimming - in bought-in cocktail sauce.

After this desaster we decided not to go any further, pay and leave.

Gariful is the worst restaurant we experienced at Hvar and surounding islands. I think a FishMac at McDonalds is at higher qualiy than the food at Gariful!

For me it's shocking how many people prefer a "posh place" over good food.

Last four years I'm spending my vacation in city of Hvar and I never miss a visit to a restaurant "Gariful". I would like to recommend it for all hedonists who enjoy superb seafood and really good wine. I know when I come there friendly staff will offer me only fresh fish which is a rare thing to find. This fabulous restaurant is great for all those who are living a ZEN!!! :)

I enjoyed myself and let the Mediterranean atmosphere take over me in this restaurant. Serving exclusively fresh seafood and Adriatic fish and had amazing wine list. Enjoy your food by soft candlelight as you look out over Hvar harbor. This is perfect holiday dining spot, no wonder it was highly recommended.

Restaurant Gariful serves fantastic fresh fish. I have never had so fine fish course. I was surprised whan we had to reservate 3 days before, but it was worth it!!! I am deffinetly comming back again!!!

The Best. Do a little test...ask a local: what is the Best fish restaurant in Hvar and this is the One you'll get redommended. Owner, Ivan, is a second generation of restaurant owners on the very same spot on Hvar's Riva. Restaurant bas unbelievable tradition of best fresh fish menue in the whole aquatorium. My experience with the restaurant is great.
