The apartment would ideally suit those who like to be in a quiet area, yet not too far from the beach, bars & restaurants. We enjoyed the 15-20 min walk down to the centre, walking back up was more of a challenge as the last 200 yards were pretty steep, although good to get some exercise after a lazy day. We found Cavtat had a very safe feel about it, the bars & restaurants were fairly quiet but it was May so we weren't expecting any busier!
The promenade was a nice walk especially in the evening while walking along deciding on which restaurant to eat in as the sun was setting. So many fabulous sunsets enjoyed.
The easy option was to get the No10 bus back from the bus station, pretty regular approx every half hour & cost 10 kuna, we just asked the driver for the stop after the Tommy supermarket which was a minute walk back to the apartment.
We hired a small car for 3 days just to venture a little further afield, the scenery was lovely and we had a great day in Dubrovnik (which was easily accessible by car/bus/boat) our car journey was less than half an hour. We parked in The Garage car park and walked down many steps to the old City. Many lovely shops and enjoyed the Game of Thrones tour. Lots of choice for places to eat.
Whilst we had the car we visited a fabulous restaurant called Konaboski Dvori in Ljuta approx 15 min drive. It had the most enchanting setting in the grounds of an ancient mill right next to the Ljuta river. Well worth a visit.
We would definitely recommend the Bayview apartments. We were a family of 4 staying there. It was very spacious with a fabulous upstairs living room, great kitchen, & 3 balconies. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment had everything we needed. Some kitchen items were so new, they were still in the packaging. The dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine all worked well.
We found the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We weren't expecting to be taken to the supermarket in their car the day we arrived, that was very thoughtful of them as it was raining- the only rain we had all week by the way! Also, as our flight home was at 7pm and there weren't any guests due in till the next day, the owners allowed us to stay in the apartment a few hours after the check out time which was very much appreciated.
have just returned from a week in Cavtat, (4 adults) The apartment is lovely with fabulous views and everything you need. The location is stunning - quiet and peaceful at this time of year.( we had the pool to ourselves the whole time). The owner, Ivan and his family, are on hand nearby should you need them. There is a small supermarket and bar nearby, run by Lina and her family, extremely friendly and hospitable. Bus stop 5 minutes away and ferry to Dubrovnik just down the hill. I would say it's not for the elderly as lots of steps up to the apartment and a steep walk down to Cavtat but taxis and bus reasonable. Airport about 7 minutes away but you don't really hear the planes. Eating out cheaper than home, Cratian people lovely - we had a wonderful holiday.
