“Mausoleum”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

The art deco symbolism in the mausoleum was well the climb up to the outskirts of the village by Ivan Mestrobic for the Racic family.

“Cavtat above the sea”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Cavtat cemetery is a beautiful place high above the green Adriatic sea. You have a beautiful view from there and a great opportunity to get the best shots from your holiday! Don´t miss it! But try to go there on a cloudy or cool day. It´s high up and when warm very tiresome...

“Love this place, worth a quick visit”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

The cemetery on the hill overlooking the sea is quite beautiful. Its just a short walk uphill and definitely worth it in my opinion. I didn't have much time available, but am so glad I decided to do this. Peaceful and beautiful up here.

“Interesting”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

The cemetery is on top of a hill - with views of Cavtat and the bay. A family member can choose to buy a tomb there, which is very expensive - but then all future family members get to join the tomb for no extra cost. It is situated next to a Mausoleum built by a shipping family. Three of the family died of Spanish flu in the early 1900's the remaining member commissioned the mausoleum before she to died the following year. For a small charge a local will tell you the history and explain the intricate sculptures and patterns inside the small building. It is now used to house funeral parties for the final blessing before the short journey to the family tomb.
