We had an expensive and disappointing meal here last night 18th September. First of all two Kir Royales clearly made by someone who doesn't know cocktails as they tasted like Ribena, far too much creme de cassis. Our starters were OK ish although the Scampi was rather tricky to deal with due to the very hot sauce and the fish being in the shell. Scallops were fine. The big disappointment was our John Dory main courses. Due to the subdued lighting it was difficult to confirm but we think the fish was undercooked, lacked flavour and was not served with the accompaniments listed on the menu. When the only good thing about your dish is the (unlisted) mashed potato then something is wrong. Desserts of creme caramel and profiteroles were ruined by the addition on sweet sickly raspberry goo, rather akin to the stuff served on cheap ice cream in the UK. The point of creme caramel is the bitterness of the caramel against the sweet custard, this was completely lost. At 1,000 Kuna (around £100) with an average wine this was not good enough.
