“Avoid this place!!”

This restaurant in Cavtat had a very nice location and outlook...But unfortunately this is all what you will get at the end....The food is horrible and without any touch.Prepared in quick anc cold way.All bases on a quick service, so you will make the table as soon as possible free for new victims.....Expensive and bad, really a pity..Notthing special, even worst than any other in the town...The seafood wines prices, who has every restaurant around are 25% over the average and at the end you will be just dissapointed with the food and service..Do not spoil your day or evening and just stay away...Sorry for the nice town to have such a inappropriate place there...

“Sea food, but with a twist”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

Quick run down the coast, to Cavtat. Decided on this restaurant. Got seated and immediately two bottles of water appeared one sparkling one still, waitress opened both with out asking if we had a preferance. We made our order, soup and an entree each with a white wine each. A small amuse bouch arrived Tuna in tomato and pepper sauce, along with bread and shrimp butter. All of these items were added to the final bill. The soups were okay though my choice with lobster was probably made from lobster stock as there was certainly not much meat in it. My wife's soup did have a shrimp in in to qualify as seafood soup. As for the entree's. My monk fish was okay though for such a beautiful fish, slightly overcooked. My wife's calamari was calamari and that about sums it up, with a huge portion of fries. It seems designed to pump up the bill to those visiting on cruise ships, with guides obviously eating gratis. We raised a few queries, which were blithely ignored, so we took it as a lesson, paid and left. CHECK YOUR BILL AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

“continued excellence and romantic setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

The previous night of our trip to Croatia we had eaten the the restaurant Dolium which was outstanding. We decided to try the Leut because of its location and the menu looked very good as well...in fact most, if not every restaurant, on the harbor in Cavtat has excellent menus.

Relatively speaking for Cavtat this was an expensive restaurant BUT by US standards for a meal of this quality with a harbor-front setting and romantic atmosphere it was still a bargain. Our hostess from Hungary and our waiter we excellent--the service was outstanding as well as warm and friendly.

I wanted something not on the menu--a melange of Mediterranean delicacies-parma/Dalmatian ham, olives, cheese, bread, tomatoes to start with--no problem! I choose a gnocchi dish and Rebecca had a risotto dish--nothing extravagant but that was the mood we were in--there were excellent fresh seafood offerings...regardless the food was outstanding, the drinks lovely, the setting perfect as the sun went down and all was well in the world that moment.

“Great food but very expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

We visited this restaurant on a very stormy day and it appeared very warm and inviting. We were talked into selecting fish and my husband was taken ouside to select a fish. It was cooked well and came with vegetables and potatoes. My son had spagetti. The bill came to just under $200! including house wine. Just be careful what you select and not be talked into anything you dont know the price of.

“Best meal we had in Croatia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Spent 5 days in Dubrovnik and found the food just OK but quite expensive. Went by bus, number 10, a 30 minute trip costing €3, to Cavat. While there had lunch in Leut and it was the best meal of the whole trip. It a bit pricey €35 for two main courses, two beer and two coffees, but well worth it.
