“Stunning”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Well worth a vist as the location is stunning and the monastery itself is fascinating.

Be warned though if you come by boat it's a tough steep walk not made any easier by the heat.

“Hard to find and a long hike.”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

If you arrive by car or bike, be prepared for a long ride down a long dirt road to get to the parking area. Just follow the signs. From the parking area you have a 2.5 km walk. If by boat, you will have a 30 minute walk from the port. It is worth it.

“Worth a visit but a long hard walk for children”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Beautifuk and interesting and one should definately pay for a tour round the building. But be aware of the walk to Blaca, it is a hard walk back for especially children when it is hot. Bring lots of water.
It is a shame that there is no cafe or restaurant there. It would be nice if you could buy a sandwich, an ice cream or at least something to drink when you are preparing for the walk back through the valley.

“Really fascinating day out”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We took the boat from Bol harbour and really enjoyed the half hour hike up to the monastery. When we were there we had to wait about an hour for our tour but it was worth the wait, Facsinating insight into local history. Although you can buy water at the monastery it is worth taking your own refreshments,

“Great path, fascinating place, full of stories”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

After a 20 min approach walk from a car park that was 3km down a dirt road, you approach a high rocky gorge, and on the left side wall is the old convent, full of history and intrigue. For 40 kn you get a guided tour too see the many books, telescopes, the old school, and a grand piano! All tell the story of a once thriving school monastery and farm. There are several walking or mountain bike tours in this area, the 4 hour walking circuit via farska is said to be spectacular.but not in 35 c heat!
