Even afer having spent more than two years in Yunnan, Lily and the Xintuo team were still able to show me places, as breathtaking and fascinating as I have never experienced before!!
The good thing is that, if you travel with Xintuo you can be sure that there won't be any unexpected costs comming up or that you will get ripped off. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and pays respect to the environment. They can adapt their tours to very individual wishes and prefernces and give you a lot of information about the very interesting local customes, as they are all locals them selves. You will for sure collect an unforgettable memory!

We had the pleasure to spend a day with Lily, who runs Xintuo Ecotourism. This was in the middle of the October national holidays, which meant heavy crowds and steep prices everywhere. Xintuo made our day unforgettable, taking us to the remote areas of Wenhai, less than an hour away from Lijiang itself. We saw absolutely no tourist! She took us to the more interesting parts of the area behind the Jade Snow Mountain, introduced us to local communities, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch by the lake. She made sure our experience was special, and catered to all our needs in the most upbeat manner. Spending this day in her company was a highlight of our various travels in China, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Xintuo Ecotourism operates amazing, well-organized adventures into some of the most strikingly beautiful corners of China. I have traveled with this organization several times, once with some friends on a 7 day backpacking adventure through rural naxi villages and once with my parents for a 5 day trip to several places around Lashihai when they came to visit me in China. They take care of everything, meals, housing, transportation and a tour guide that travels with your group and makes sure everything run smoothly. This is the real thing, a great organization run by local people with the profits returning to the community. This is the best way to get off the beaten path and into the local community. 100% recommend.

In 2005 I was part of a Fulbright-Hays faculty development seminar to China. We visited a number of places in that country, including Yunnan province. Xintuo Ecotourism handled our arrangements there, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. After meeting us in Dali, Lily accompanied us to Lijiang, which remained our base for visits to Shigu, Leaping Tiger Gorge, and Shangri-La. Some of us enjoyed an overnight stay in Lily's parents' bed and breakfast in Lashi Lake, and some others of us traveled to Baoshan Old Stone City. We learned much about Naxi and Tibetan culture and saw some great natural beauty and historic buildings. All in all, it was a wonderful time, and Lily was a very efficient and cheerful host. I recommend her company very highly.

My sister and I spent 5 days hiking with Xintuo Ecotourism. Lily worked with us to customize the trip based on the time we had and what type of hiking experience we wanted. The best part of the trip was visiting Naxi families and staying at Naxi guest houses. The hike along Tiger Leaping was touristy. The guide spoke excellent English.
