This was one of our final stops on our trip around Yunnan and was described to us a touch of luxury before we went home. They werent wrong. The rooms were beautifully appinted with great bathroom. The bar and restaurant were great too. The breakfast was Western which after 10 days of travelling was nice. Just to have coffeee and toast with jam was great. The old town is only 10 minutes walk away (road is under repair so a bit messy but worth it). We bought some antiques - they were lovely and a good price. The staff can tell you which places to go. It was a westernised approach to a hotel in the middle of a beautiful village but sometimes its nice to get a little of this after roughing it a bit for the few days before. We went for a horse drawn carriage ride - tourist but fun and the idigo factory was great - we did our own tye dye. It was a bit of a shock to be surrounded by Americans in the middle of China but they were so warm and friendly we soon got used to it. A surprise but definitley worth the visit
