This hotel costs about $100 a night. My husband and I stayed here because we had an 8am flight the next morning and wanted to stay closer to the airport. It's about a 20 minute drive, compared to the 2 hour drive from our previous hotel.

It's extremely run down. It was probably really nice when it was first built, but hasn't since been maintained.

You definitely do not get what you pay for. Customer service isn't great. When we asked for a taxi, they told us to go outside and find out.

It's extremely expensive when you look at what you actually get. I do not recommend this place nor would I ever stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. It's not worth it.

My friends and I stayed two nights at this hotel. It's best to bring your Chinese tour guide along so he or she can communicate your needs to the hotel supervisor. Chuanzhusi is a nice little town and one of the best place for rest after a day in Huanglong. We didn't expect a clean bathroom, but I was surprised I survived two nights there and slept well. One of my friend was struck with altitude sickness since arriving from Jiuzhaigou and our tour guide suggested to stay at the hotel before advancing toward Lhamo in the Tibetan Plateau. He managed to get us four oxygen bags (worth a total of $100!). Two bags were empty by the next morning :) All in all, there's hot water for bath so I was OK with the hotel. Other than that, just keep reminding yourself that you're only there for a day or two. By the way, the hotel's pretty safe, and the Tibetan staffs were quite friendly, unlike the Chinese we met in Songpan. There are quite a few small stores outside the hotel where you can buy Chinese-made North Face windbreakers and Tibetan pashminas. A couple of Muslim restaurants there also serve delicious momo (dumplings) and yak soup. Those pretty much made my stay in Chuanzhusi and the hotel worth my while.

Room Tip: Ask for the first or second floor because they don't have elevator!

If you have a morning flight out of Jiuzhaigou or Huanglong then you may want to look into staying in Chuanzhusi which is just outside the airport. Everything else is a much longer drive over mountain roads. There are a number of hotels here but all cater primarily to Chinese tourist groups. English speakers may not be available at the checkin counter. But don't let that stop you! The only Chuanzhusi hotel locals will recommend to foreigners is the Minjiangyuan International Hotel which wants 800 RMB/night (our taxi driver said he could get us a discount to 600 something) and has terrible reviews here, so we were motivated to try this top-rated (by Chinese members) hotel. We could not find a phone number for this place anywhere on the internet. Get a taxi driver to take you here.
At the time of our stay, Chuanzhusi town was entirely a construction zone, the streets paved but unfinished and virtually every building wrapped in bamboo scaffolding. The noise mostly died down at night except for one determined cement cracking crew that worked all night.
This hotel cost us 520 RMB/night discounted from the published rate (just ask). The rooms are unheated. The hot water is on for a few hours in the evening and possibly morning as well. The water was hot enough to shower comfortably though the room was cold in October. Our room was a suite with a queen bed and another room with a couch, table, TV. The TV and the phone did not work. Apparently half the rooms in the hotel have a working phone, but no TV. Also no internet. The bedding was warm, the bed itself was the standard box spring being used as a mattress that you find all over China.
There is supposed to be a restaurant associated with this hotel but it also wasn't working. No problem, across the street are several small restaurants. We walked over in the evening and ordered noodles to be delivered to our room which they reluctantly agreed to do. The food was delicious. Also across the street are several convenience stores with water, beer, snacks, etc and a few tourist souvenir shops. If you're getting up early for the morning flights none of this will be open so plan ahead.
All in all, this hotel was adequate to the simple task of staying close to the airport, but is incredibly overpriced compared to hotels in Jiuzhaigou proper (where we paid 280 RMB/night for heated rooms with free internet). Our taxi driver told us all the local hotels are similar to this one.
