Description: Established in 2004, A Bu Lu Zi is Jiuzhaigou's only gourmet Tibetan restaurant. Ke Zhu is our highly trained head chef and he has created a menu which is a mix of traditional and contemporary Tibetan food. Zhuo Ma hosts the family restaurant and looks forward to welcoming you. Many people visit Jiuzhaigou and miss any exposure to Tibetan culture. We enjoy introducing guests to Tibetan culture through food as well as our Eco Lodge and Home Stay experiences. Our wish is that you enjoy your stay in Jiuzhaigou, our home, and hope that our mouth-watering food, Tibetan barley wine and entertainment will add to your experience.

A nice Tibetan restaurant.
The food was good, they were really nice.
It's in the second floor of the building so look for the sign.

“A taste of local culture”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

A Bu Lu Zi is a Tibetan restaurant, about 15-20 mins walk from the entrance to the Jiuzhai Valley National Park (westward, opposite direction from Sheraton Hotel and the bus terminal). It is located at the corner, on the first floor of a row of shops.

The restaurant has good ambience, full of character with soft music playing in the background. Having not tried Tibetan food before, the menu in Chinese and English is interesting. We did not want a heavy meal so we had yak meat mini kebabs and Tibetan Mother's potatoes to go with rice. The food was kosher and they served a free flow of Chinese tea. After dinner, a sweet girl, one of the waiting staff, performed a Tibetan song for us which turn out to be some sort of a welcome serenade, and presented us with hada (holy white silk sash) for good fortune/health. What a sweet touch to round off the meal! Price-wise, it's on the middle range but we think it was well worth the unique dining experience.

“Probably the best meal we've had in China”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Walking around in this small town next to the Jiuzhaigou park, we didn't expect to find normal food.
We walked in to A Bu Lu Zi, a Tibetan restaurant, and got a great experience which we will remember every time we think of our trip to China. Everything we ordered was very tasty (which is rare in China) and the service was really amazing. very attentive, very nice girls that were super helpful even without knowing English.
After eating we enjoyed a great surprise as they performed a Tibetan song for us, which turns out to be some sort of good-luck ritual. Very authentic and a great experience!

“Great food, excellent service.”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

We loved it here. Good quality Tibetan style food. Excellent tomato soup and mothers potato dish. This place is warm, welcoming and full of character. They could however do with having some wine for sale, as they have it listed in the menu but don't actually have any. The manager, Zhou is an amazing person and all the waiting staff were lovely. The Indian style curry was a bit bland and probably the worst thing that we ordered, as were the yak meatballs. Make sure you also order the Tibetan Barley beer. Watch out for the address as it has recently changed, so check with your hotel. Well done, Zhou Ma!

“Something different for Jiu Zai Go”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Limited options for vegetarians as you might expect, and some of the listed options not available when we visited. Food was decent though on the expensive side. If you are introverts, or English, you might find the singing at the end of the meal a little embarrassing. All meant in good faith though so, probably a good experience for adventurous meat eaters.
