Very happy with my stay here. Reception was friendly and efficient, staff were attentive and room was very nice, modern and comfortable. Had buffet dinner which was very good and breakfast which was fine. Only gripe was that fitness center was not open at 6am...told it didn't open until 8am which is not much use to those of us who need to be leaving a bit earlier.

Choose this hotel for a family weekend get away. It is a nice base for exploring Mount Tai. As belonging to the Starwood Group, the hotel facility is nice. Cozy room, fabulous lobby, all the facilities matches a 5 star hotel. And the staff at the front desk is nice and friendly.

There are undergroud car parking for free which is also easy for travelling with a car. There are taxi waiting outside the hotel and it's easy to pick a taxi. It's about 15 RMB to the entrance of Mount Tai.

Coming to the details where I think the hotel still have space to improve:

First, there are free coffee provided in the room. But the coffee are not instant coffee and need a coffee pot to make it. There are no pot in the room and you need to call the room service and they will provide you a pot.

Second, although the breakfast area is big, it's still difficult to find a place in the peak hour during the morning. The table is not immediately cleared after last guests and we need to call the attendant to clear the table before we can sit.

Third, we stay at 6th floor and during the evening, we can hear the noise from the night club located on the 3rd floor. Fortunately, we can still sleep with some noises. But if you have problem in sleeping, remember to choose higher floors.

I still want to mention the glass lamp in the lift. It's really beautiful but when the lift operates, the glass lamp makes some sounds which feels likes an earthquake......(maybe I'm too particular...)

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise from the night club

After staying at FP Tai'an 4 months ago with a good experience this was our first choice when returning this time. No big changes since last, with a 400RMB/room deal still good value for money. Breakfast buffet still average, a new dinner buffet though average in quality definitely worth the 68 RMB/person. A la carte menu has gone down in quality, the burger which was great last time round had dropped the blue cheese mayo in favour of ketchup and size hovered between burger and slider. Service still good for Tai'an and they try hard to please, which is rare in China. Special thanks to restaurant staff assistant manager Lory and waitresses Hillary and Mary, they did good. Overall still my first choice for Tai'an/Qufu area but they have tough competition in Sheraton Jinan to the north and Shangri-La Qufu to the south is opening 2012. Thanks for another good stay guys!

The hotel is nice, reasonably priced, and pretty new. The room is spacious, and modern. The feature I liked the most is the shower, which has a slight elevated bottom at the center, diverting water to the corners.
I received a fruit plate for being a gold SPG member (looks like room upgrade which I sometimes receive for being gold in USA is for platinum members in this country). But the price is really OK.
Getting a taxi can be quite hard, since the town is chaotic, with people fighting for cabs, and the hotel is in a newly developed area. The bellhop did their job getting a taxi for me, though in a chaotic town like that, the driver required that someone share the ride with me, and we both pay the full price. Anyway, not hotel's fault of course.
All in all, I'll definitely stay in this hotel again when visiting the town again, if I will... Absolutely the best in town.

My mum and I had taken a fast train (3-4 hrs) from Beijing to spend a few days in Tai'an with the aim of touring Mt. Taishan. It was an impuse trip. Received a complimentary upgrade upon arrival at the hotel (as I'm a platinum starwood member) and we also managed to check in early... both of which were much appreciated.

The hotel's nestled at the foot of the mountains, with eateries nearby if you want to take a walk (though the nearby shopping centre is kinda new so not all the shops are occupied).

Was pleasantly surprised when the Duty Mgr (Robert) gave his personal attention to my mum and I, taking time to chat with us, helping us sort out any administrative logistics that we hadn't settled due to the up-and-go nature of our trip. There was an F&B mgr (I believe his name was Thompson) who was extremely welcoming as well, taking the time to make my mum and I feel welcome. All the staff here exceeded my expectations in terms of their service ... this was what prompted me to type down this review.

The breakfast buffet spread is complimentary and they have a really nice selection. I tend to go for the chinese dishes (congee, century eggs) but they have the standard western selection as well (which I avoided as I'm watching my weight). THe complimentary wired broadband in the room was pretty decent as well.

For room service, I ordered the Yang Zhou fried rice twice. The first night, it was rather oily for my taste. The second night, I gave instructions to hold back on the oil... and the food turned out very decent. =)

The only con I can think of was that since the hotel is so new (less than a year old I believe), a taxi-driver I flagged down didn't know the hotel's name. Best to give the instruction Bao(3) Long(2) Guang(2) Chang(3) and you'll be able to see the hotel from there. The journey's about 20 mins from the train station. Oh, and the swimming pool is under renovation (if I'm not mistaken).

All in all, for a sheraton four points, I thought I received a Starwood Luxury Collection experience. Even better when you consider the room cost per night at only around 400rmb++

After a let-down at Ramada on our first night in Tai'an, we moved to Four Points for the second night, and that was a great choice. Though the service still has it quirks, they try hard to do a good job in making you comfortable, which in my book goes a long way. Brand-new hotel with nice rooms. Placed in a nice, newer part of town which is still central and with easy access from the new ring road. Good English speaking level of the staff. A standard Four Points hotel in decoration, down to the same carpet as I have seen in the previous FP I have seen. Good a la carte food, medium breakfast buffet. Room-service messed up a bit, but they were good in solving it. We found a deal through C-Trip for 400CNY/room incl. one breakfast, and comparing to our stay at Ramada this was very good value for money. I would definitely stay here again if I go to Tai'an again.
