Alabama Symphony Orchestra
Reviewed January 30, 2012

The Alabama Symphony is a great addition to the Birmingham cultural scene. The pops series has had excellent performances with many stars and tribute groups. The concerts are always a treat.

You may consider Birmingham and then try to project that image on the ASO. You would make a sad mistake. For all the difficulities Birmingham has, the ASO not only overcomes it - it is a beacon (along with the Civil Rights Museum and the Birmingham Museum of Art) of culture in this area. Their concert series runs the entire range of classical to pops. Tickets are reasonably priced and performances are on time and usually close to perfection. Go and enjoy!
