“Magnificent”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

I love the Alabama Theatre. The architecture is amazing and the atmosphere makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The Mighty Wurlitzer organ that comes up from the stage is powerful and really resonates on the theatre. I've been to events and movies here and have always had a wonderful time.

“The most beautiful theatre you can experience.”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

The Alabama Theatre always holds a summer series of old movies, so we went to see Alfred Hitchcock's "To Catch a Thief" with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. The Alabama adds so much more to any movie experience. It cost 1.5 million to build in 1927. If you want to see a priceless piece of history with all the glamor and glory from the 1920's make time to visit the grand Alabama Theatre. Today they not only show movies, but concerts, parties and weddings. As you walk through the Alabama know that at one time, the city had planned to tear it down and put in a parking lot. We're so thankful it's still stands!

“We got married here.”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

This is such a beautiful grand theater built in the 1920's. We got married here in October 2004. We always go to see White Christmas in December every year. It is a tradition. I have nothing but love for the special people who restored and continually care for this place. What a special historical piece of Birmingham!
