But the food is very good...just overpriced. And it closes early at night. It's a little better than a typical cafeteria, but not much. I like the place; it's just that it's often closed when I think to go there.

The menu is extensive and the recipes are wonderful at this updated version of the down-home Southern-style "Meat and Three Veggies" diner. Modern, clean and spacious, with a cafeteria style steam table offering a variety of poultry, beef, fish and pork entrees (including a fabulous bowl of New Orleans Shrimp, Andouille Sausage and Grits). Then there are the salads, the desserts, and an array of very well prepared vegetables, from carrots to turnip greens to black-eye peas and steamed cabbage, spared from the extra salt, grease and sugar that plague so many southern restaurants. A waiter takes your drink order and you pay on the way out. It's very popular at lunch and increasingly so at dinner. You won't be disappointed if you like delicious home-cooked food. Also, there's a pleasant party room that stays booked.

Great cafeteria southern food, always good quality and fresh. Price is alway fair for freshness and quantity. Have to get there early for lunch, and parking can be difficult.

This is average cafeteria food, not bad but not great. We were there for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was crowded with after church groups. We tried the fried chicken, tilapia and catfish. A convenient place if you are in downtown Birmingham.
