“The original location on Southside is a must”

George Sarris does a great job with the freshest seafood. Oysters are hand shucked and Mo knows how to shuck them so you never have to worry. Son Dino can fix some killer cocktails and there is good selection of wine and beer. I love the greek island grouper... and the new clam chowder is a favorite of my husbands. You must try the cioppino, a seafood stew, it's fantastic... and the greek nachos are very unique and good. Fried and broiled and choices (even healthy) for sides...

“Very good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

We had discovered this restaurant about 6 months ago and were hoping for another chance to be in Birmingham and visit again and that is just what happened. The food is excellent. I had some of the best gumbo I have ever eaten!! Also really enjoyed the shrimp & grits, very tasty!! They have a very large menu, lots of good choices!

“blaahhh”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

I liked the greek swordfish my last visit, and this visit i tried the shrimp & fried green tomato po boy sandwich, it was not good at all! very few shrimp was on it, and fried green tomatoes, and nothing else. it was BLAAAHHH & BLAND! the fries were too salty, too much bread, and not enough protien! nothing fresh was on this sandwich! it needed lettuce or arugula. my sister in law ordered lobster bisque & shrimp cocktail. the bisque had too much sherry or wine in it, you could still taste the alchohol, and the shrimp smelled like fish (she couldnt eat the shrimp coctail) my other sister n law ordered pecan crusted chicken fingers, and they were devine! so its a hit or miss at this restaurant. I have went twice, and always during lunch, maybe dinner is better. 2nd visit was dissapointing. I will not go back next time i am in birmingham.

“Oyster Bar w/a band”

I enjoyed the variety of seafood items on the menu. There is live jazz set playing there on the weekends and the music is relaxing and beautiful. The food was delicious and the people working there were very friendly and courteous.

“Good Fish, Poor Setting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Maybe its the fresh fish market that greats you as you enter, but this place always smells of a wharf. The fish is good, and always fresh, but I'd rather take it out than eat in as it's cluttered and never appears to be really clean.
