“One of best in South”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

The BMA must rank as one of the top art museums in the south. Its extensive collections are especially rich in Asian art and Wedgewood porcelains. But the materials from Central and South America also shine. European and American art is represented as well. On top of that, admission is free, although the suggested donation is a low $3. A must see in Birmingham.

“A HUGE museum at a donation cost”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

This is worth seeing! If you have kids, there is an adorable childrens area where they can TOUCH and play and create art. Over the Summer they also invited children to create art work.
No kids: My husband went on a seperate trip and in 2 hours did not get through all the amazing art they feature.

“Impressed with the large collection they have.”

The art museum has a very large collection, maybe not the most famous artists, but they have very nice pieces on display. Closed on Mondays.

“Suprisingly a Good Museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

The price is right here for the quality of art. Donations are accepted but it is free. We were pleasantly surprised with the Japanese and Chinese art section along with a wide assortment of American and European.

“Historical art”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

This museum offers a historic background of southern usa through the arts. It is very much interesting but quick to cover unless you are really into this kinds of things. The museum was very clean and kept and security also does a good job. I recommend a visit if one has nothing to do after organizing.
