This museum is top-natch. The displays are well designed and the multimedia exhibits engage you right from the beginning. Use the institute and its resources to teach young people about the struggles, tragedies, and triumphs of the Civil Rights movement.
Some displays are quite sobering and some disturbing. Seeing a KKK robe up close was a chilling experience. Take a stroll across the street to the 16th Street Baptist church for a memorial to the 4 girls killed during a bombing of the church by the KKK.
