Our hotel room overlooked this park, and although we were in Luoyang after the peonies had bloomed, we found the park to be a lively center for local individuals and families of all ages. In the early morning, several groups of people were exercising in classes or by themselves. From Tai Chi to aerobics and whip snapping to jogging, the park hummed with activity. In the evening hours, there were young men teaching children how to roller skate in one section while in another people were ballroom dancing. In the dog walking area, many dogs and their people congregated, while in another, arts and crafts were being made by children. There was an outdoor cafe area and other places for people to sit or leisurely stroll about.
