“Will never forget”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

To go trough the almost 2000 step is worth for sure. The view from the top will give u that experience u will never forget. The restaurant al the bottom has food, but not cheap one. I recomend not to eat much before climbing. Its exausting. 50, 60, and even 70 old ladyes will offer to come with u the hole path. Dont say no !!!! Save my life, they have fresh watter and believe it or not, they fan u all the way long. Even one of thems have a littles book for u to writte something for her. So so cute !!!! Moon Hill is next to the Big Bayan Tree, of 1465 years old. Soooooo incredible as well

“Sweat!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Walking up 800 steps of differing heights after cycling to the hill in the heat was a massive task and I don't think I've ever been as sweaty, but the view at the top - worth it.

“amazing view from the top”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

yes its 800 steps up, but you are shaded by trees. to get the really good views, you must take the path on the left where the sign says not too.its just before what people think is the top. its another 10 minutes or so but wow the 360 views are breathtaking, just make sure to go on a clear day. I had it all to myself. climb up the pole!!

“One of my favorite hikes anywhere!”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

I've done the Moon Hill hike several times and it never gets old. Simply put, you will not find a more fantastic view of the famous Yanshuo scenery anywhere. And, since that's why you traveled to Yangshuo you really must see it all.

There are 860 steps up the hillside, but most of them are well spaced out so you can easily make the climb at whatever pace you'd like. Just before reaching the top, you'll notice a little dirt path going off to the left. There's a sign that says "Passengers No Entry". If you're up to a bit more adventure with the most amazing 360 degree view you may ever see, take this path. But, be careful. It's very tight with many low hanging branches, so it can be hard on the back. Also, after a rain it can be quite slippery. Once you make it to the top, be careful. It can be fairly treacherous if you're overly focused on taking pictures and not watching your step on the rocky outcropping. If you suffer from vertigo, definitely do not make this extra climb. You'll be more than rewarded for your hiking efforts at the main landing which has a safety rail around it.
