We stayed here in a twin private for 7 nights. You really cannot beat the price! For around $12/night we had a room that was pretty much an averaged hotel room... Twin beds. Bright room w lovely view, water boiler pitcher, and typical Chinese bathroom.
Hamson is the guy who runs this hostel and he is GREAT!! Speaks pretty good english, helps you with tours, bike rentals, everything!! He even plays a movie nightly on the big screen I the common room. He also invited us to eat with his family in the common room one night and we played games afterwards.
The kitchen was decent for what we needed, we cooked there a few times that week... But we found a great restaurant near the hostel for around 34 yuan for the two of us.
Negatives: The wifi is spotty and can be frustrating in the common room, and definitely doesn't reach the individual rooms. Bathroom smells awful most the time, but that's typical for chinese bathrooms. Location is a bit out of the downtown/popular area which is nice in some regards, but a bit of a walk if you plan to spend several days there.
Overall, we loved this hostel, and Hamson, was an incredible price, and highly recommend it to everybody!More
