This wasn't quite the authentic experience we were looking for. It was pretty expensive (200Y per adult, kids half that) and was really just getting on a bus to go to a village on the river, unloading and joining a queue to get on a raft, watch a cormorant fishing demo (which is pretty amazing), feed a water buffalo and bung the kids on the buffalo's back for a photo, cruise down the river a bit, drop off a 40cm weir for a photo opportunity (which they then try to sell to you) then back on the coach to yangshuo. It was cool to see the dragon bridge (built 1400s I think) but not enough to raise the experience above average.
