Viu Manent may make wine but the whole place is set up like a theme park, from the buggy rides to the shop, and somewhere in the middle is the restaurant.
Being in a winery in the Colchagua valley you would expect the surroundings to be beautiful - and they are.
Being a part of the Viu Manent experience you would expect the service to be efficient - and it is in the "my name is Juan, that's John in American, and I'm your waiter today" sort of way.
You might also expect the food to sound better than it tastes - and it does.
My fish was not fresh and my wife's ribs were so overcooked they were dry. The sort of "cooking" you'd expect in a theme park.
Go there as part of your vineyard visit, if you must - it's not unpleasant- but go elsewhere if you want a well-prepared meal cooked as it should be.
