I had an overall very good stay at Awasi, the room and facilities and food are top notch, there is no doubt about that. The restaurant staff and drivers are very friendly. The guide is particularly knowledgeable and I understand the guides will get a further training in geology.
My disappointment, especially after reading so good reviews, came from the front desk and concierge services. You get an email at booking saying you are allocated a personal concierge but I didn't hear from her during my stay. Requests to the front desk were dealt with slowly. There was no "we'll do our best" attitude, which I expected. There may be minor things compared to the wonderful amenities and gastronomy but I left disappointed in comparison to other (cheaper) 5* hotels and Relais & Chateaux I stayed in.More
