“Nature at work”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014

Plums of steam everywhere in the early morning light. That what we liked best. The geysers are not to be compared with those in Iceland, they don't have high water fountains. But still, it is awesome to see how the earth is hot inside.
The downside is, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
If you like to try a dip in the hot pool, do so when the sun is not yet over the mountains because then you have a chance of a quiet bath.

“Crowded but magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

Yes, it's crowded. True, there's considerable traffic on the unpaved road there. It's early. It's cold. You might feel short of breath in the altitude, yet there is something so magical in this Jurassic Park scenery, that I found it to be the number one attraction in this area. Bring a swim suit and a robe from your hotel, and don't skip the warm pool dipping after you finish admiring the geysers. It'll be cold when you come out of the water, but the cathartic experience worth it. If you're not joining a guided tour, bring a thermos with hot beverage and warm clothes

“Amazing but crowded.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

The place itself is an incredible sight. The only negative is that there was about 20 bus loads of tourists, which make it hard to have any decent photos. Our tour was fine and had about 15 people. Rug up as it gets cold.

“A beautiful display of active geysers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

The trip to Tatio Geysers was our favorite excursion. The sheer number of geysers and the level of their activity make this a definite must-see when visiting San Pedro de Atacama.

“A nice tour if you never saw geysers before”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014

Interesting geothermic field with some very small geysers, steam vents and bubbling hot water. Unfortunately you have to get up early, the tours start at 4am because the geysers stop their activity after sunrise. It's really cold out there and the thermal pool is not as hot as one would appreciate.
On the way back the driver stopped at several places where we could watch wild animals and birds and finally at a small village where you have to line up for a Lama skewer of goat cheese empanadas
