“Too much money for what it is”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here four nights. The place is nice but located about 15-20 min walk or 5 min bike ride from town. Free breakfast and you can cook your own food in kitchen. Free wifi. Free bikes. Owner is really nice and very helpful. Speaks good English. My room could have used more lighting and a fan. Really warm in there at night. The place is fine but considering the price and the other many hostel options right in town, I would look somewhere else.

Where to start....

We booked here on the strength of trip advisor reviews. As every other review has mentioned the distance from the town, we were not put off by this and can confirm that it is around 15minute walk.

The breakfast was excellent, however we were made to feel awkward because not all of the options that we knew to be available, from what other guests were eating and by other reviews, were on the table. For example other guests were enjoying eggs and avocado. These were not offered to us until we asked for them.

The breakfast consisted of tea/coffee, eggs, avocado, home made bread, muesli, yoghurt, jams, cheese, ham and fruit juice.

Sandra answered our questions thoroughly but often does not come across approachable - we can therefore understand other reviewers opinions of her.
She does not appear to have a strong relationship with her staff which can be awkward to witness.

Our room was very clean and quaint and the bathrooms also. Although the curtains were see through and bright in the morning.

If you book any trips from a company in the town incahausi is always picked up last. We found this out when we waited on the kerb for over an hour two mornings in a row.

Although a little difficult to find when arriving very late by bus (we had help from a couple of friendly local guys), we were warmly welcomed by Sandra. Her homemade bread made breakfast a wonderful experience. Sandra happily helped us book several tours of the area and hosted a great BBQ to celebrate the Chilean National Day. The rooms are small but comfortable, decorated in warm colours and there was a lovely little courtyard to sit in when not touring. The main part of town was a comfortable 15 minute walk. Everyone, staff and fellow guests alike was friendly. Sandra also speaks English which was a big help. We had a wonderful stay.

We spent here three nights my husband and I. The owner is not very kind maybe the reason was that we did not contract her tours. You need to know that the rooms are inside their home and you share your intimacy with them. Plus, bedrooms do not have curtains and the sunlight in the early morning is disturbing. One night one member of the family woke us up because she was talking loudly on her Mobile phone for a long time close to our place.
It is true that it is a bit far away from the city center and that the B&B is insecure. One morning we could not have our breakfast because nobody was there. We were very angry and the owner, later, told us that she thought we were leaving early for a trip. Another morning the water of the shower didn't run properly. In conclusion, we paid 40.000 Chil.pesos for each night, wich is not expensive considering the rates in SPA, but you need to take into account the cons also.

A beautiful house run by pleasant and attentive people. It's a bit far from the centre but walkable in about 15 mins.

Our room was clean and comfortable, but to get to the bathroom we had to walk through the family kitchen. It's a bit disconcerting when you come out of the shower and have to walk to your door past a group of teenagers who've just come in from school. Wi-fi coverage didn't reach to the room so to use the internet we had to sit outside in the yard - pretty cold after sunset.

San Pedro is very expensive, so I still recommend Incahuasi as a good value option despite the drawbacks.

This little B&B is a bit outside the center of San Pedro. But you can take a bike for free and cruise to the center. It'll take you about 4mins. There's a small courtyard where you can have a drink and relax. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you ask, they even drive you to the center or the busstation. The rooms are very spacious (there's one with a small kitchen inside). The rooms close to the berakfast room are very noisy. There are some issues with the water pressure (but probably that's the problem of San Pedro, located in the middle of nowhere).
We enjoyed our stay at the Incahuasi's and would recommend it.

Room Tip: ask for the spacious room with the little kitchen inside if you want to cook.

Incahuasi will remain for us a very special place. Sandra has been extremely helpful and nice during our stay. Her breakfast is fantastic. The tour she organized for us at the El Tatio Geysers was unique. We shared a kitchen and bathroom with another couple, and had a great time sharing stories and pictures with them. We loved to be a little outside the center, but we only had to walk 10-15 mins to get there. We would definitely recommend Incahuasi.
