Description: The Lonely Tree Café is a social enterprise with the goal to obtain profits to help finance the social projects of the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang. The projects we support cover a wide range of humanitarian aid including education, support for the disabled, healthcare and preservation of Cambodian cultural heritage. At the Lonely Tree Café we give employment to underprivileged and disabled people: the staff consist of vulnerable youth and most of the products sold in the Lonely Tree Store are crafted by people with physical disabilities who are in permanent need.

I was seduced by the shop where you can find nice jewels and handicraft. But I was disappointed by the food, too much oil in the tapas and the chocolate mousse was not light, too thick. Staff friendly.

We had an amazing gazpacho, some tortilla and other spanish apperizers. They also serve khemer food (highly recomended !).

Definately have dinner there if you get a chance! (they are also quite famous for there breakfasts).

Tasteful and quiet restaurant with good food and a nice shop downstairs. Very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere.

We went here during an extended stay in Cambodia and for a city like Battambang it really stands out. Not only is the food some of the best you will ever experience, the friendliness and willingness of the staff to help you is better than a number of much higher priced places in Australia. The Lonely Tree has been started for all the right reasons. Not only can you get great food but the shop front on the ground floor provides an opportunity for you to purchase some amazing gifts that are made by local Cambodian people. We will certainly be heading back there on our next trip.

If you're looking for a break from rice, look no further. The gambas al ajillo, chocolate mousse and lonely tree salad here are exceptional. The staff speak english (and spanish!) and support projects for people living with disabilities. The kromas (traditional scarfs) are some of the nicest i have seen in cambodia...and come at a very reasonable price. I loved my time here and can't wait to return.
